Aftermarket Exhausts - Buddy 150
In the 10 years I've had my Blackjack, I've gone through about 4 Prima exhausts and I've just about had it with them. Their weakest point (for me) is the mounting brackets on the muffler, and finding someone around here to weld SS is useless. I don't like the look of the OEM stock muffler, I'd like ...

+1 Also, What 'stock' pipe did you have to put on? was it the prima pipe or the buddy 125 pipe? -duo Sorry for the very late reply! I had not checked the forums in a long time. Yes, I had to put the Prima pipe back on. Made it harder since I didn't have it there and had to ship one overnight. Plus ...

That's Maverick!
Well, this isn't exactly my area, but I worked at our Sierra Pines office in The Woodlands, TX this week. On Wednesday, I noticed this Blackjack in the parking lot. I never did see the scooterist. http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo2/GenuineLong/Blackjack_zpsa53a8444.jpg Rob Hey there! Yes, he's ...

Elec Start and turn signal problems on Buddy
Okay, I've searched the forums here but couldn't find much related to a problem I'm having with Maverick. On a recent ride I suddenly lost my turn signals (loud buzzing sound and no blinking) and then the electrical start wouldn't work. I push the button but nothing happens, no clicking or other ind...

Yeah man, still learning as I go. Just because I can do one thing doesn't mean I can do everything! Unreasonable to expect that of anyone. If I could, obviously I wouldn't be asking. I don't have the special tools to swap out heads and install new cam chains, so I took it to a shop to do that. When ...

Not sure where you got that I'm pulling my hair out my friend, just asking some advice if anyone's encountered this problem before. I haven't. When I pulled the spark plug it looked good, though I didn't do a cut on it for obvious reasons. I have a new Prima exhaust and intake coming later this week...

I removed and cleaned the carb over lunch today, checked and cleaned both jets and reinstalled. Snugged up that throttle retaining nut and ran it on the center stand. Seems to be doing a little better. The main jet is a 92, is that the stock one? Idle says 32. I didn't readjust the valves, I'm hopin...

I don't have all the vaccuum tubes hooked up, i.e. the crankcase vent and all. And I have a K&N on it with stock jets and stock exhaust (waiting on the right parts). But it still shouldn't be that bad, right?

Blackjack Top End Rebuild - bogging under throttle
I just had my top end rebuilt on my Racerjack Maverick (Swtiched from the racing 4-valve head back to stock two, new cam chain, new seals) and now it's bogging under full throttle. Idles fine.
I have a video of what it's doing, how do I post it?

Oh, out there engine problems are the order of the day - I was easily doing high 60's out there with the ram air and straight pipe, but when I switched to the AMA class from the Run-Whatcha-Brung on Tuesday, they made me put the stock intake and exhaust back on the bike, plus a host of safety additi...

Bonneville Blackjack
Well, just returned from Bonneville with my Blackjack and I took an AMA land speed record! It was an open class and I set the inaugural record at 42.1565. It wasn't the best speed - the engine was having issues with several stock parts they required I put back on, namely the stock intake and exhaust...

Bonneville: Cylinder head torque specs?
We're swapping out a new 4-valve head on my Bonneville-bound Blackjack "Maverick" and can't find any specs on proper torque for head bolts. Help! My phone number is 210-827-6473.

Re: Current status...
I'll post some pics when I get home tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing those pics. The Blackjack is my favorite Buddy model. ... the team is confident we can get 20% more out of the engine. That's the ticket! I wasn't able to figure out exactly what the rules are, but under the "Run What Y...

I'll post some pics when I get home tonight. They're working on several mods this week, and we have a pro tuner coming from Dallas on Sunday to push it to optimum. Cutting it really close! I apologize if I'm dampening your enthusiasm. I just don't want you to spend all your time and energy on gearing. The thing is, you can tweak your gearing as much as you want, but that won't somehow overcome the laws of physics. Otherwise, you could re-gear a 50cc scooter to go 200 MPH, which is si...

Re: Maverick's sister, Electric Sally.
She's doing great. At 6000 miles it's time for a full service, and most likely replace the cvt belt. I can feel it thumping thru the floor board as I ride 50-60mph. Jason at the shop explained that it is normal for cvt's especially if you do a lot of wot riding (which the last 1300 miles have been,...

Thanks for the support!
I really appreciate the support and advice from everyone! This has been a long time dream if mine. As far as mods go, seems the only thing you can't change is the cc's and aspiration. I'd get bigger tires but not much clearance in the rear. That's a route I haven't considered yet. We are using the s...
