Its a great looking bike to me, but power is too low. There are faster bikes out there for roughly the same price (CSC Rx3, KTM 200 Duke).
The Enfield 650 twins are tempting.

I pulled the divider out of the airbox on my 125 and it ran awful (even after jetting up 3 sizes). I have heard that the constant velocity carb doesn't like pod filters or air box mods.
You may have better results with EFI. It costs nothing to try it.

The fuel tank and oil crankcase both have vents, that can leak fluids when you fall. Top off the fluids and wipe off all the drips. Let it stand for a half day to see if it leaks more. You may be OK. The kick start does not take a big hard kick to work. Its more like stepping on the kick starter is ...

I think we only have a couple of Hooligan owners here. Another handful have Buddys with the 170i engine.

I don't think we ever even discuss anything that will keep up with Svartpilen 401. Maybe the RE 650 twins. I agree with you about the Himalayan. Even with $1,000 in engine mods, its hard to pick up 5 more hp. I just like the vintage styling of the Hima. The CSC RX4 seems to offer a lot for the dollar.

CSC is now offering an electric clone of the Super Cub called the Monterrey, for 1999 USD. It's no Honda, and it doesn't make 8hp, but e-scoot prices have really been dropping.

How long did your scoot sit, without running? May be worth draining the tank and fuel lines and replacing with fresh fuel.

The CB350 looks great, but a 350cc single isn't much to get excited about. If Honda brings it to the US, they will need to price it very aggressively to compete with the Himalayan and other lightweights.

Seems that the Blur 220i is a little closer in performance to the Vespa 250 than the Buddy 170i.
-Alas, the Blur does not provide the classic styling of the Buddy and the Vespa.

When I bought a stage 1 kit for my Buddy 125, the smallest of the 3 new jets was 5 sizes bigger than my stock jet.
The smallest new jet in the Buddy 50 stage 1 kit is no 90, so your stock jet should be no 85, if the Prima logic is consistent.

What are your riding and storage conditions like? I have had a stainless prima exhaust for six years and it still feels solid. I even kept the scoot in a carport, about 1000 feet from the Gulf for three years. 5,000 miles or so.

The Honda Trail is retro cool and will be indestructable, but my budget says I should settle for a $1999 Kymco K-Pipe (and swap in a Zong 190cc mill).

interesting. At one time, the motor company planned to sell it in the US as a Benelli, sold by Benelli dealers. I like that they named the bike as an anagram of 883, too.

KTMs are cool, but I would prefer the classic styling and thumper torque of the G400C over the little Duke.

Not a road test, but a side by side spec comparison at the link.
The extra 7 hp and 2000 rpm sound worth the extra $1300. for the Duke.
The Duke has almost 1/3 more hp than the Lifan.

Kawasaki has introduced the W400 in Japan. It is said to be a W650 with a smaller bore, so power to weight ratio may not be so good.
