Re: Stella 2t engine replacement

I have a 2003 2T Stella engine sitting in my garage, along with the tanks, electric starter etc. It is in very good shape and ran well the last time I fired it up maybe a year ago. The gear stack needs some work but nothing major. New cruciform is in place. Problem is I live in SLC, Utah. Have no id...

2003 Stella 2T conversion to electric

Hello https://i.imgur.com/loTterc.jpg I'm about 90% finished with the conversion of a 2T to a 4kW hub motor. I've been posting over on Modern Vespa and an electric vehicle forum. If you're interested in that thread, follow it here: http://modernvespa.com/forum/topic171911 Mods: if it is bad form to ...

I thought the smaller would be best for the leg shield as well, based on measuring mine. Cowls could be larger I suppose, but that would muck with cost.

Thanks!

These are not injection molded in such a small quantity. The company doesnt say exactly what the process is, but maybe 3D. Here is info on it as well as a gallery: https://emblemart.com/newsite/chrome-emblems/ I have a quote for two sizes and they have artwork for the badge (see below). Size could b...

Vintage 80's style Stella badge

I saw that quite a while back, some users on stellaspeed (I believe) had a Stella badge made to look like the 80's era Vespa badge. That seemed to be a limited run and I haven't found any. I've contacted a car emblem maker who can make them. Would anyone be interested in 1 (or 3) if these get made? ...

Thanks for the reply Stanza. I've just started shutting off the fuel tap when I park, esp at night and haven't had that problem since. So I'm wondering if the whole float cover part needs to be replaced - maybe it is warped.

Gas blows out exhaust after first start

I just finished a full carb rebuild with new gaskets down to the block, new float and needle, new jets. Scoot runs really well. But, in the morning after it has sat, it is grumpy getting started. I have to choke and open the throttle and after many kicks it will sputter to life and blow a puddle of ...

Reed valve cleaning

On my 2T - I had great results using Chem-Dip for the filthy carb components. Look like new. Is there a reason not to drop the reed valve into it? What about the airbox, minus the grommets?

Thanks for sharing any good or bad experiences with the Chem-Dip

New to me '03 Stella 2T

Picked up an Orange '03 today - great price. 21,000 miles (it was a daily commuter), a bit of body rash but runs strong and shifts well. It looks like its been parked for a while. Tires have good tread but will change out with Conti's if I can find them. What things should I dig into first? Thanks!

In my experience with my Buddy 125 vs my BMW R1200, I would say 'yes' - the Buddy gets less respect. I think some of that is just the small size of the Buddy plus perhaps people assume you are moving very slowly. I frequently get subjected to quick lane changes right in front of me, but I'm used to ...

Windscreen comparison: Prima vs Cuppini review

Recently I wanted to add a windscreen to my 2007 Buddy 125 and was weighing the Prima and Cuppini windscreens. My wife has a Prima on her 2007 so I was familiar with that model, but ended up getting the Cuppini short screen for mine. Here then is a quick comparison for any of you considering one of ...
