Thanks. The service manual I downloaded has a wiring diagram, but the resolution is so poor that I can't make out half of it. It looks like the 15A fuse runs directly to the voltage regulator (in two places), the clock, antitheft, and a rectangle with chinese letters. The manual also says to check t...

I had a tire replaced by Penninsula Motorsports in San Carlos. It's a straightforward thing, but they seemed competent enough. They were friendly and quick and didn't balk at small wheels (cycle gear said they couldn't do it). My friend takes his older yamaha motorcycle there and he recommended it. ...

Most likely short?

So, I started the blur, pulled my gloves on, pushed it back out of the car port, got on, looked down, and the bike was dead. No lights, no engine. Checked it out and the main 15 amp fuse was blown. I ordered another fuse, but it blew as soon as I put it in. Ignition was off. Any likely, easy to acce...

Sigh. I just had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. It was really rainy and humid here and I noticed condensation inside the lens. Related?

Yup. You nailed it in one. I hooked it to the car and it fired right up. I ordered the battery you linked in another thread. Thanks for the info! Gonna be a bit bigger job, though. I dropped one of the battery post screws down in well behind the battery. I can't see it, so I don't know how much plas...

Does Blur have a fuel solenoid?

My Blur (2013 220i) wouldn't start this morning after sitting for about 2 weeks (grrr...rain). It would crank and crank, but wouldn't catch. I think there's a short or something because the cluster would blink off when I hit the starter. I found an old thread about a similar electrical problem that ...

Another update. Local motorsports shop put the new tire on the rim for 30 bucks, and I got the wheel back on in about an hour. No really difficult bits. Haven't tried it yet, but I'll let you know if the wheel falls off. :). Removing and reinstalling the wheel was easier than I expected.

What does the gear oil do?

Stupid question time. So I follow all the instructions here and replace the gear oil every time I replace the engine oil. It's pretty easy, so why not? My question is, what does this oil do? The CVT doesn't use oil, does it? I read something about it being for the rear axle, but I don't see how that...

I'm riding my wife's Piaggio 150 to work this week (7 miles one way) while I'm waiting for a tire for my Blur 220. I miss the extra power. Her 150 has barely adequate power (it slows down on steep hills) but is a little more comfortable. I'm 5'7" but 180 lbs w/o gear. I would definitely try the...

Update. I found a local shop that will replace the tire. BTW, Cycle Gear's machine won't work on 13 inch wheels. I ended up ordering the Kendra 130/60-13 from Amazon. Should arrive next week. Removing the rear wheel was actually pretty straightforward. I found a power point on these forums explainin...

In the same boat here. I have the 2013 220 and my rear tire is showing braid. Dealership where I bought the scoot doesn't sell or service Genuine any more, so I'm struggling between trying to find an independent mechanic, taking a 4 hour trip to San Francisco, or taking the wheel off and taking it t...

Battery seems fine. After turning key off and on it starts right away, even if I was cranking for a while before. Will check it this weekend, though.

Strange starting behavior

I hope someone can help with this one. I have a 2013 Blur, EFI, no kick starter. Occasionally when I hit the starter, all of the lights on the cluster light up and the whole thing seems to reset. The tach goes all the way up and down, there's a strange readout on the LCD for a second. Then the "...

Hmmm. Didn't think of taking a pic. I'm guess I'll have to do it again. You know, just to get a picture. This is a big deal, though. The under seat on the blur is pretty dinky. I'm generally surprised by what won't fit in there. It's nice to find something that does. I was ready to put the donuts on...

San Diego ==scooter town?

Wow. Spent last week taking the family to Lego Land and the San Diego zoo and was surprised at the number of scooters I saw. in a ten minute ride from the zoo to a grocery store (in my dad's three quarter ton diesel. that was fun to park down town) I saw 5 or 6 scooters. I'm pretty certain at least ...

Riding pants that I can wear to work

I ride the Blur to work a few times a week and am looking for pants to wear while riding. I work in an office so standard "office casual" is the norm (khakis and golf shirts). I don't like wearing khakis while riding though, for two reasons. First, it feels like my wallet and phone are goi...

Nope, no double clutch. For the 4 speed it was get the RPMs close, pop it out, rev up and down and grind until it popped in again. Sometimes, if you had the engine just right you could pop it out and back in seamlessly. The worst part is that it wasn't linear. IIRC the sequence loaded was start in 1...

If you drive a stick can you shift without the clutch? I grew up on a farm in Montana driving tandem axle diesels. Most fun was a 5 speed with a 4 speed auxiliary. You could use the clutch for the 5, but the 4 had to be shifted by RPM matching only. Had two different MT Ford pickups, but the clutch...

Engine cool down?

All, I'm a proud owner of a brand new Blur220 (first scooter and first new anything), and I'm trying to treat her right. The owner's manual says to warm up the engine (I forget how long) and let it cool off for 5-10 minutes per N minutes riding or something like that. As my commute is barely 20 minu...

Introduction

Hi, all, I'm a new forum user and new scooter rider and I wanted to introduce myself. I rode motorcycles around the farm as a kid and had a brief affair with motorcycles about 12 years ago before I got married. I got a job 6 miles from my house and used that to convince my wife to let me have a scoo...

All, I'm a new (lately) rider and new Blur 220 owner. I just noticed this morning, I think the block letters at startup are "GSC" not "CSC". There's an extra little line at the front of the first letter. I was assuming it was "Genuine Scooter Company." ?? Cheers, Rick
