Oxford Green top case - found!

So in Jun 2019, I posted a query for an oxford green top case to match my new-ish 170i . *Crickets* until a little over a year later, when I receive a response from someone here letting me know they may have one in a collection from an out of business scooter shop, on the other side of the continent...

Re: Upgrades and Bug Reports

Looks good so far. I was able to create a post, and upload images to include with it. Had to recreate my signature and avatar, but that wasn't too painful.

Thanks for the update, and for your work on this forum.

Scooter Scavenger Hunt (Portland, OR)

The second annual Vespa Portland scavenger hunt is BACK for the month of October! This is a month long scavenger hunt that all scooter owners in the Portland metro area can participate in. Last year, the scavenger hunt was introduced as a fun challenge to encourage everyone to ride through October, ...

Re: Who's Crashed? [Crash Reports]

After finally determining that the 170i was my favorite and making the decision to sell the 150 Italia, I took both in for service and new tires (7 and 12 years of use respectively). Upon returning home, I took advantage of a clear day for a ride to the grocery about 6 miles away for some modest sup...

RE: Battery location for tender install

I have recently acquired a newer 170i with USB port where the 12v port was located in my older model. It seems that the outlet is switched, so I'm wondering if I will need to either wire in a separate pigtail directly to the battery, or if someone has created a reasonable workaround for this.

Thanks

Re: Advice for Buddy 125 accessories

Welcome, NurseDarling! I would also recommend the Gen-u-Bin, we have those on our Buddys and though not large, they are pretty handy. We also have top cases mounted onto rear racks, that make a minor shopping errand easy. A windshield is nice, especially in this part of the country (I am in Olympia)...

New addition to the fleet - Buddy 170i

I had finally been talked into selling the Yamahas (our daughters are both married now and living in adjacent states, so not much group riding happening anymore). I was intent on buying a new 170i, and had looked through Craigslist and FB Marketplace for one, but found nothing that interested me. Fo...

Buddy 150 starting woes

Update: battery load tested, and is not what you'd call robust, so it was recycled and replaced. Based on recommendations in previous threads, I opted for the Z10SXTA, about the same size and weight as the X7, but more power. topped off overnight with the Battery Tender. I'll have to wait for the re...

Buddy 150 starting woes

Reaching out to the collected wisdom and experience of the Genuine Buddy family for some guidance: So my 2008 Italia with ~3K miles has started not starting. A dead battery I understand, although I keep this one on a tender, alternating weekly with the backup generator. It has never failed to hold a...

Welcome, I'm just down the road a little from you in Olympia. There was once a scooter group called South Sound Slow Riders, but it seems to have faded away. Let me know if ever you're headed this way.

+2 for Cheeky Seats! They made up a Union Jack seat cover for my Yamaha Vino that matches the blue body panels exceptionally well. I cannot say enough about the great service and all around friendliness of the CS crew.

Genuine, Vespa, Kymco..... Dealer closing in Tacoma WA

I have not purchased a scooter from them, but they have been great for service. They run a shuttle from Olympia for scooters for service, which is very helpful. The next closest dealer is in Portland.

Summer trip- PDX to the San Juan Islands with the Buddies

There is a rural route between Portland and Seattle that is used every year by ~10K cyclists for the STP event (I am planning to use that route for a scooter trip to the Willamette Valley when the temps rise a bit). You could either veer off to the west near Olympia and head up the peninsula toward ...

Re: Share Your GoPro Scooter Videos!

Dave, I'm using a pretty loose definition of "fame" here, I have no delusions of grandeur. I actually called to see if they would be interested in the images, and the response was positive. We live in a mostly rural county, where this seems to count as a substantive infraction. The same th...

Share Your GoPro Scooter Videos!

So I was trying out my new camera earlier this summer on a local 35 mph rural road, and ended up with a bit of a surprise. Postscript: the county sheriff paid a visit to the driver, who was surprised to learn from them that he had inadvertently found fame on YouTube. Here is the link: https://www.yo...

LED flasher with audible click?

Does anyone know of a flasher that will run LED turn signal lamps that will also make the audible click that reminds me to shut it off? I found one that satisfies the former, but not the latter. Someone also mentioned inserting resistors into the line, but that may be above my skill level. Input is ...

light kits from VSP

So it appears that the light kits were still available as recently as late May. Are they still available?

I don't mean to seem impatient, but I am hoping to have the conversion done before too much good riding weather passes by.

Thanks!

fuel

We've been buying ethanol-free fuel in downtown Olympia. It's a little more $$, but I like not having to worry about the effects of the ethanol in the system. It seems to provide a small performance increase as well.
