Re: Buddy 170i Won't Start
Not to pick on you, but what do you mean by “won’t start”? Does the starter motor turn the engine over, but it will not fire and run? Or does the starter not turn the engine over? If you aren’t clear about what is happening, how do you expect anyone to help you? As I mentioned "I hear a click ...

Buddy 170i Won't Start
Battery was dead, got a new one. Still won't start. Put it on the charger & was fully charged in about 30 minutes. Still won't start. I hear a click when I push the start button. A Youtube video said take out the per carrier & short the 2 terminals on the right. That should start it. Ok, I g...

Motorcycle Consumer News (now gone) always posted speedometer errors with every bike they tested. Most read 3-5 mph faster than actual. My Honda Metro shows 35, goes 31. Some vendor made a different speedometer display with the numbers moved to display speed accurately for the Suzuki Vstrom. Sold th...

I'll be using this oil from here on. Interesting that it's a 15W-40 weight with friction modifiers. To my knowledge no one else makes that. Heaviest weight I've seen with friction modifiers is 10W-30. Not that this will give me a noticeable power gain but maybe a bit less wear over the years. Also f...

Just my opinion but I think once a year is enough. Based on that I've read that a few times for motorcycles. I change mine once a year. Since the engine oil isn't getting thinned out by a gearbox like a motorcycle maybe longer is fine. Used oil slowly breaks down or oxidizes over time. Lots of opini...

I would throw in the 150 Buddy. Shorter stroke and less crank problems. I was surprised that the Buddy riders in CBR 2012 left all the panels on. You can get a lot more air flow and cooling by just removing the panel down by your feet. I do that. Removed the panel behind my feet on both my air-cool...

Touch Up Paint
I finally found where to get touch up paint for our scooters. Saw this on Facebook & ordered a color pen for scratches my 170i has. Not cheap, $29.XX including shipping but it does match, I don't have to guess & experiment with blending store bought paints. If this has been posted before I g...

Harley makes the Street 500 and Street 750 bikes now. They don't sell well. I like the looks of that but apparently Harley hasn't quite figured out that a lot (most?) riders don't like riding with their feet so far forward. I personally can't because 1) it's uncomfortable, 2) I can't get up off the...

Yesterday the G400C started looking even better to me. It's about 130 pounds lighter than my motorcycle which fell off the stand yesterday. I was installing lowering links because the center of gravity is so high. I can't flat foot with the wider gel seat which is WAY more comfortable. I fought it m...

One thing I really like about this new bike; It has a MOTORCYCLE seat! Not a bicycle seat. It won't have to be replaced for rides over 30 minutes. My only peave about modern motorcycles is the thin little triangular bicycles seats they come with now. The idea is to remove all thigh support so shorte...

Resetting the ECU Question
I have the instructions but 2 questions: While doing this does it matter if the engine is hot or cold? Does outside temperature matter? If so I probably should do this in winter & in summer.

I ordered this for an upcoming group ride, will be on the saddle 3-4 hours. Should arrive in 2 days. Comments are that it looks like Granny's toilet lid cover but it's really comfortable. Half the cost of many other options I considered. https://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Plate-memory-Motorcycle-Cushion...

Monkey Bike Returning
I remember the Honda Monkey decades ago. It was 50cc but it's returning as a 125. Mechanically it's very much a Grom but with the look of the original Monkey. Not sure if it's coming to the USA but the way the Grom sold Honda would be stupid to not sell it in the USA. https://newatlas.com/2018-honda...
