W/O the vest, wearing black leather and riding the same Harley chopper, I was given much greater distance, never cut off and had a large buffer in even dense traffic. I was able to speak to several drivers under different conditions and what I was told by them was that they perceived me in black le...

From 10 to 13 inch wheels doesn't really make a difference to me but I have not found a scooter that is more fun in traffic than a Blur! It's quick with excellent handling and brakes that lets me do things that...well...I probably shouldn't...but I just can't help it! This is where my Blur thrives....

Absolutely not. True speed on mine is about 72MPH in favorable conditions. I bought mine at a dealer in the country and had to take highways for the 100 mile ride home. Obviously I chose to stay on smaller highways that paralleled the interstate and even then it was not a pleasant ride. Of course it...

From the buyers end, I know I've never seen a Buddy go on Craigslist for over $2k in KC and I'm guessing OKC is going to be a similar market. Doesn't seem to matter the year, or mileage and really even the CCs, they all go for between $1k to $2k and the ones listed over that sit for months even in p...

how did it install? It went on with parts from the box (soooo many parts in there), but I had to keep the mirrors in the original position, not on the new L brackets. If you mount it there way, you have to go hunting for bolts with a reversed thread to secure everything in the original mirror mount...

2000 miles this summer and still runs rough some days. Definitely does not like mornings south of 60 degrees and doesn't like afternoons north of 90 degrees. Sputtters, belches, backfires at random on most days and I've just accepted it as the bike has a naughty personality. It certainly does not co...

Same situation for the first 100 miles on my Blur 220i except I didn't have to hold it wide open to maintain 55mph on the secondary highways I plotted my route on. I did however hold the throttle in the same position for miles at a time which is another no no during break in and the book says to kee...

Syd was talking about the Buddy 125 series scooters, not the Buddy 50cc scooters, I believe. A well-maintained Buddy 125 should easily be able to do 55+ MPH all day long. Many of the folks on this forum seem to swear by them. I was just being an ass because the OP and I were talking about 50ccs. I ...

... Heck, I blew up my first 125cc because all of my commute is on 45mph streets and I was WOT the entire way back and forth for 2 seasons. This made me save and wait until I found something around 200cc that would keep up with normal traffic without stressing the engine. You really need to look at...

Head wind was my biggest eye opener when I started scooting 3 summers ago. It never crossed my mind that riding into a 15-20mph wind would cut 10mph off of my speed. Just one of the many things you never have to consider inside a car. ModestKarma, I pretty much never ride on the highway unless it's ...

Man, I cannot recommend a 50cc for a 15 mile commute in Denver. The roads there are fast and the drivers are faster just like KC (Broncos suck! :P ) For $1200, you can get a 125cc-150cc of many brands like SYM out of Taiwan or a Yamaha Vino with the same quality if price is your concern. The license...

The minimum speeds on highways here are posted at 45mph, so legally yes, you can be there. I can't ever suggest clogging up a 2 lane highway on a 200lb speed bump since it just seems dangerous to me and selfish toward others. I had to ride my Blur 100 miles on these sorts of highways when I purchase...

I'm really glad you two walked away unharmed. I'm in my 3rd season having yet been battle tested against the pavement and really hoping for 30 more. Re: Idle problem
Also, my unsteady idle happens right away after warm up and the RPM slows down and is there whenever I stop. Agreed, mine is still way rougher than it should be, but has been less apt to stall after letting it warm up. It also gets worse as the engine gets hot from rides over the normal 20 minute c...

The manual seems pretty insistent about warming the Blur up for a couple minutes before riding, so I have tried that the past 2 days and have not stalled, seems smoother. Mine is exactly the same Han. It stalls all the time and does not smooth out until 2,200 RPMs. Resetting the ECU only made the bike smoother while moving. The good news is that the 220i's had a service notice and were all suppose to have the valves adjusted by the dealers before sale. My Genuine sho...

I was thinking of ways to haul one also since I'm in the same situation as you and I came to the conclusion that renting a van would be the best.
