I have replaced the rear tire on my Buddy. I removed the wheel and got the old tire off but I could not get the new tire on the rim so I took it to a local tire shop (automobile tire) and they mounted the tire for $10. I was very happy.

Where do you get the replacement engines and about how much do you pay for them?

I have never seen him around town but I watched him on the track a few times. I used to go to some of the races but no more.

I will say it is much better climbing hills than my Buddy 170 but is no V8. It has more horsepower.

I had no problem getting the tire off the rim but putting the new one on was a different story. I ended up taking to a neighborhood tire store and they mounted it for me. I think it was $5.00 very well spent.

Yes the battery is under the floor mat. The mat just pulls off the floor exposing the two screws covering the battery. I routed my charge cable out below the plastics.

My Buddy 170 would refuse to start like yours. The starter would turn the motor over but I believe the battery did not have enough power to fire the spark plug. If you have an amp meter you could determine what is going on when the kill switch is activated (kill position). See what the current is with the scoot running then turn off the key. A kick start would work on a fuel injected Buddy IF the battery was strong enough to build up the required fuel pressure to operate.

I love my 170. Fuel injection is the best, at least for me. I only have about 1200 miles of perfect service from my Buddy, never been in "limp mode". I never rode a 125 so I can't really compare them but I would buy another 170 if I needed to replace my scoot.

If you search."blue dot tail lights" you will find lots of examples. When you are directly behind a vehicle with them the lights look purple instead of red. I like them too.

I purchased a new 170i so I would have fuel injection. I have been very happy with my Buddy and I would select it again if I were to start over. It is great.

I really don't like the oil cooler on my Buddy but the more I learn about this issue, the less I dislike it. I hope you get this fixed soon although it seems like something the dealer cannot figure out easily.

I see you are in Atlanta. Was the shop Twist-n-Scoot? I got my Buddy from them. I am not likely to take it to anyone for service since I do most of my own maintenance.

I was very lucky and only had about 3 blocks, mostly down hill, to the nearest gas station. I pushed it about a block and coasted while riding the other two blocks.

My Buddy holds 1.545 gallons. I ran it totally out of gas and filled up at a gas station. There is no question about the capacity of my tank now.
