Hot CV Drive Cover - How hot should it be?

Is it normal? After a short ride my Blur the CV Drive cover is too hot to touch. I'm asking because I have burned through 3 belts in 2k miles. The bike seems to be running perfectly now. The last time I changed my belt I had to replace the clutch drive face. A faulty weld on the drive face plate may...

I may have found an answer....

:D . I have suspected an alignment issue and I have no idea how to adjust for that. Hopefully that won't be an issue with the new clutch I install. But here is a new interesting twist that may be the reason I have had issues. From the guy that I bought it from... He asked me if I ever coast down hil...

Bell issue?

This is a very interesting proposal. I'm not sure what the bell would have to do with it but I'm not a mechanic or an engineer. I had decided that, rather than replace just the outer sleeve, I'd go with a full clutch assembly (but minus the bell). I figured my bell is fine and why spend another $75 ...

First belt found in many broken pieces

The first belt broke in many small pieces. The second broke in one place. I'm afraid I didn't keep the first broken belt for comparison to compare melting. The second belt was melted on the inside, leaving residue on the inside plates yet it was the outer plate that broke. I suppose the culprit coul...

Photos

I'm attaching photos of the belt and broken outer secondary slider on the clutch which cracked and broke at the weld. Either the breaking belt dealt a death blow to the clutch part or the broken clutch caused the belt to break. The bike ran for about 10 miles after I first felt it slipping. That may...

GY6 Clutch on a Blur 220i?

The outer secondary slider on my clutch assembly broke at the weld. The part alone will cost me as much as four times what a GY6 "complete" assembly would cost. Has anybody tried different options for their Blur clutch?

Burning through Belts with my Blur

When I bought my Blur the previous owner let me know he had a problem with a shredded belt at 2k miles. I made it to 3500 miles before I shredded a belt. I noticed some slipping and some fluttering in the days before it broke. In retrospect I think I took some rough sounds to be an issue with the en...

Riding on the passenger seat (safety issue?)

I've only had my Blur a few days. It's my first scooter and I'm brand new to riding. I'm finding myself a little cramped in the cockpit and the bike seems to fit better when I'm halfway back on the passenger seat. My legs stretch out to a better position and the handlebars aren't as close and confin...

I appreciate all the advice. My ultimate goal is to stay alive so I would put safe at the top of my list. After experiencing some discomfort in the saddle I guess I would put comfort as my second priority. Fun would be third. This is what I will be looking for in a scooter or motorcycle on the mainl...

Bought the Blur. Might also get the Vespa

I bought the Blur yesterday and I believe it fits me as well as I could hope. I can flat foot at a stop but I feel a little big upstairs. It's my first scooter and I have nothing to compare it to. I guess I will know when I get to try the Vespa if it is more suited to me. If so, I may own two scoote...

Thanks for the input. Both posts have helped me decide.

I believe, if the Blur fits my body and meets my expectations I will buy it tomorrow. If the Vespa deal comes through next week I may follow through with that as well. Maybe I will own both for awhile and sell one later. And maybe I will love the Blur enough to pass on the Vespa.

Blur 220 vs Vespa 300

I'm about to buy my first Scooter. I have not tried either the 2014 Blur 220cc or the Vespa GTV300. I am a retired 63 year old that never got into riding when I was younger. Now I hope to learn and eventually ride a motorcycle cross country. I see the Scooter as a first step. I'm intimidated by the ...
