Your profile shows you as being in Jacksonville, you might want to try Solano Cycles, unless you're ok with waiting on delivery from an online vendor.

Also, are you de-restricting it because you know, and can see, the restrictor ring in between the front variator?

Re: Variator Fins Chipped off!?
You do need to use some kind of an impact, yes. Also, if you have broken fins off the variator plate, you now need to replace it, as it's now out of balance and will shake itself apart.

Re: What weight sliders
For that setup, 7g sliders or rollers would do nicely. Stock is 8.5 if I recall, so this should move your engine rpm up a little during acceleration. I wouldn't bother with a contra spring just yet, wait until you get into big bore kits first (which is the next step, and you'll be glad you did it). ...

Hi Keith, there probably won't be too much in the way of "I've had and worked on those bikes before", as that's a chinese GY6 model, whereas this forum is for the Genuine line of scooters, so different wiring, different regulator, potentially different CDI and Stator, etc. A lot of this st...

Re: 2011 buddy 50
I'm trying to decide a similar path for a Roughhouse 50- the only difference here is that I have the luxury of having a whole extra drivetrain sitting outside the bike. What I really WANT to do is see how cheaply I could go insane- the Buddy/RH 50 is essentially a QMB139 clone. As such, one COULD g...

Why in a hurry, anyway? The buddy 125 will kick start and run even if the battery is removed from the bike.

Re: Buddy 170i Won't Start
On the buddy 170, the fuel pump should spool up when you turn the key on. That's step one to listen for. Beyond that, if you are hearing a click, it means that your starter relay is attempting to pass power to the starter motor. Reasons for that not actually cranking the motor over include: Bad star...

Okay quick question I have the standard 50cc carb fitted and since changing to a different exhaust the bike is now running very rich. The only adjustment is the idle speed screw which won’t help. So I have uncovered the none slotted mix screw. If I cut a small groove in it with dremel will it tur...

As others have chimed in already, for proper high speed cruising, the Hooligan is not the smart move. It's a great around town bike, and is capable of high speed, but keep in mind that 55-60 is right at the limit of it's engine. Metal body tub on the Vespa is all well and good until you have a crash...

Your battery is either toast, or the engine is resisting rotation more than it should (seize). My money is on a weak battery though. They can show as fully charged, and then fall on their face as soon as you ask them to crank the motor over. If you want to rule that out, put a volt meter on the batt...

There are many upgrade options, but cracking 50mph true GPS speed will take easily 3-400 dollars of kit, exhaust, carb tuning, etc etc. And after all that, you're 100% voiding the warranty. Can you do it? Sure. Should you do it? Up to you. It would be smarter to trade that one in on a larger engine ...

Sounds like something is changing shape once it heats up. I'd ask them to do a compression test with the bike cold, and then another with the engine up to temperature. You're looking for a compression in the 135+ range. If that checks out. In the meantime, take the bypass bolt out of your exhaust (t...

Buddy 170 is very sensitive to weak batteries. I know you say the battery is fully charged....but is it? A green light on the charger is only half the battle. It's an AC lighting setup, so you'd need to run a rectifier on the yellow wire to avoid blowing the LED bulbs. I have personally ridden both. The buddy is quicker, but the Vino is smoother.
