Re: How much for my Stella?
I have a beautiful green 2012 Genuine Stella 4T manual with only 1,800 miles. Everything works great except the starter motor is broken It starts fine with one or two strokes of the lick starter. I can't shift it any more with my arthritis. I'm thinking of asking $2,000 (Los Angeles area). Does tha...

Re: Tire Recommendations for Buddy 125
What do you like for tires? Ours aren't worn but certainly aged being 14 years old. Do you want the tires that I am taking off my new buddy 125? They have less than 300 miles on them. What are they and what size? Scooter tires are not all that expensive so it might be hard to justify take offs once...

It's enough to make you want to learn to work on scooters. Luckily I work on my own stuff and refuse to let someone work on my stuff unless it is under warranty then I will let them then go back and fix what they screwed up. I had the Honda dealership fix my Honda Element under warranty and when th...

Re: Help! Buddy Service/Repair in Boston
Since Scooters Go Green went out of business, it's been a tremendous hassle to get work done on my Buddy 170i in the Boston area. I took it to Biker's Outfitter in the spring for warranty work, an inspection and an oil change. From beginning to end--and that was about 6 weeks--it was a nightmare. I...

It's unconscionable. IANAL, but I would say it borders on criminal negligence. Thanks for outing the offender. I'll never buy a thing from them. You presume that it was done with intent to sell shady goods. I assume you've never worked in a business with new hires, or folks pressed for time. I can ...

I got the dashcam installed. The image stabilization wasn’t on during this recording. I had a hard time deciding where to place the cameras, I decided to go to the front fender because the camera view will move along with the handle bars. Don’t know if that was a good idea but we will see. I wil...

I wanted to update everyone about the issues. Stability issues are better after adding some weight, breaking in the tires and increasing the psi to 30. Speed is insane after break-in. I added the windshield and can obtain speeds well over 60mph gps verified. I had it up to 62mph today on a limited a...

If you are going to buy off the internet check out www.revzilla.com they have good prices, free shipping on orders over $40, and they sell enough tires that they shouldn't have old tires sitting around. I looked at there website and was going to get them there but they don’t have the front tire i...

Tire age? New tires over 6 years old.
I just got my new Heidenau 110/80-10 and 130/70-10 in from az scooter parts and both are over 6 years old. What is everyone’s opinion on tire age? The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) says tires expire in six years. The British Rubber Manufacturers Association “strongly rec...

Well, it's not that tough, you just adjust change the face of the display. I mostly posted the link though to back up my claim that it is a common problem with motorcycles as well. Exactly what I was thinking, someone should make a new face. Well, I'm guessing it's also tough to crack open the spee...

This is nonsense. New OR old scooters don't demonstrate wobbles, binding, grinding, pulsations, or uneven brake grabs in any way whatsoever. You aren't being treated properly by this dealer. Call Genuine in Chicago for advice. I told my old lady that the scooter rear brakes were pulsating and asked...

It could also be my issue with the low top speed. Your scooter goes over 50 mph so it doesn't have a low top speed for a Buddy 125. Most of my Buddy 125s have topped out at 52-53 mph. If someone told you that it would go 60+ mph either they lied to you or they don't know what they are talking about...

Yeah that is definitely not normal. I've worked on Buddies with similar (but less severe) issues, where the rear rim took a hit. In this case? Yes. Trailer it back to the dealer that sold it to you- it could be a bad rim, a bad brake drum or a bad hub. After checking it out more I am pretty sure it...

Also- in reading your post again, given the fact the scooter is new, I'm wondering if the tire is seated correctly on the rim, or if the wheel itself is loose and only being held on by the cotter pin. This kind of thing happens at dealers that push a lot of scoots- they have to assemble them when t...

Egg salad, there is no quote button to quote you. It is a 2018 with the newer cast rims and I don’t see any signs of damage. Does the rim itself have the drum? The brake shoes press against the rim? If so is the rim machined after casting? What happens if you wear the brake pods down to metal? It ...

PLEASE HELP new buddy 125 rear brake issue & stability i
If I apply the rear brake it feels like a bicycle with a bent rim. Almost like a car with a warped rotor where the brake grabs tighter in one spot of the rotor. The brake grabs tighter in one spot throughout the full rotation. If you gradually squeeze the rear brake and turn the tire by hand you can...

You should write a letter of complaint about the speedometer to Genuine Scooter Co. They haven't acted on these complaints for the last 14 years; maybe yours will do the trick. 14 years and they can’t get it right? Wow. I was wandering if anyone contacted them to let them know of the issue. Donâ€...

Brand New 2018 buddy 125 Speedometer WAY off.
I just picked up a brand new 2018 buddy 125 and took it easy during the break-in. I finally opened it up a little bit and not to thrilled with the top speed or the incorrect speedometer. When I am doing 55mph it says I am doing around 62. It seemed that my top speed is around 55mph i didn’t hold i...
