It had been sitting for a month so when it fired but didn't start, I thought it might need a little gas so I twisted the throttle. Yes, normally I just push the button, it fires and starts without touching the throttle.

I'll check the screw. Thanks for the suggestion.

Buddy Throttle Cable

2008 Buddy 150 Pamplona Was starting up and I felt, heard a pop under my right hand. Scooter tries to start and fires but immediately dies. No tension when I turn the throttle and it won't rev. I assume throttle cable popped/broke. I have a new one but seems like I'm gonna have to take the whole bod...

My paws are both hairy but I've got no cats! @babblefish: Bought the Bubu new in 2008. The ugliness on the outside of the original variator is from where it spun the hell off and skated across the parking lot when I failed my belt replacement exam. @Stanza: Affirm. New ramp plate will not seat even ...

Buddy 150 Variator Geared in Center?

I got a new variator from ScooterWorks. On my stock variator, the outermost piece (Ramp Plate?)…Part 33 on “E7 Driven Pulley page has a smooth (un-geared) center hole.. THEN, the first washer type thing outside of that (Ratchet Kick-Starter?)…Part 34 has teeth in the middle. This makes sure...

Thanks for the response. I thought it would be #26 too but the teeth on it are in good shape..might be considered 'female'(?). The bolt (male?) it sits on 'under' the nut and washer is 'geared' at the end like a sprocket(?) to mesh with the teeth of 26. It's THOSE teeth that are stripped. They're th...

Buddy 150 Kickstart spindle

I went for a while with a dead battery and used the kickstarter to start. Eventually I stripped the 'gear' on the spindle/bolt the nut screws on to secure the variator assembly.

Is it possible to JUST replace that spindle somehow or do I have to get back into the whole starter?

Buddy 150 Belt 742x20x28 v 742x20x30?

2008 Buddy Pamplona 150, 14k miles. Playing around with roller weights, found belt was worn and cracking. Ordered new one from Scooterworks. They sent (as ordered) 742x20x30. Manual says this is right (for 125). Putting it on I noticed it was a little wider than the old one. Reinstalling variator, e...

Life Expectancy of Buddy 150 Roller Weights, Variator, etc

I have a Buddy International 150 Pamplona. Nearly a year old with 6000ish miles. Seems like lately it's lost its mojo off the line, though top end still around 75. Could it be the innards are wearing out? Obviously the Buddy owner's manual is worthless and I can't find anything about expected engine...
