All I did was come to the Modern Buddy Forums. I don't call that social media. Maybe you do? Well, sure I do. It is just as public as Facebook and has an audience that is, by definition, made up of scooter riders. Exactly the public that a scooter shop would be concerned about. To me, this is a for...

After having the issue posted in another thread with my voltage regulator burning up, I am going to throw out the possibility of this being the cause of the idle fluctuations. I propose it may have been on its way out so was causing issues. I just got mine back today with a new voltage regulator ins...

Playing devil's advocate here, did you contact them to resolve the problem before posting about how unhappy you were? I can see how they would feel discouraged and not want to take any more chances if you instantly post negatively before they've even had a chance to make it right. I get what you ar...

Got an update today. The first issue identified is a fried voltage regulator. I have attached a photo(which to me appears to show a manufacture date of 5.19.99 - did PGO seriously use a part which was made in 1999 on a 2011 scooter?). The final cost will be $400 bucks. $110 for the regulator and $30...

Round two with Twist 'n' Scoot did not turn out so well. I have posted about my dead Blur in another thread. I asked Twist n Scoot for help and was given this reply via e-mail: Tommy, We’re honestly struggling to help you with your Blur. With your last few service visits, you have gone on Modern B...

Blur died suddenly....
So after my backfire issues she seemed to be running better today. I was driving to work and suddenly and without warning the scooter died at a red light. No dash lights, nothing. Turned the key on and off, nothing. I had to push it to a parking lot in heavy 5:30pm Atlanta traffic, not fun! My deale...

Sounds similar to what I have been experiencing. Mine will at times decide to idle around 2k/2100rpm. This often happens after I have been riding for a while. Lately it happens at startup and I also have a lot of popping/backfire type sounds with a closed throttle and as I slow from speed. When it i...

Almost certainly not a backfire as that causes flames to enter the intake system. Likely a exhaust pop from unburned fuel ignited by flames coming out of the exhaust into the exhaust pipe and muffler. Is there a solution to this issue? I may have to DIY as my dealership answered my email saying the...

Mine does this sporadically (9,800 miles). Came on the site to see if others had the same issue. Typically mine runs very well. On my way home this past Friday I had loud backfires as I slowed and noticed the idle was running higher than normal (around 2k-2,100 vs 1500-1700 as normal). It did this f...

Re: Burning through Belts with my Blur
I am not a mechanic and I live very far from one in rural hawaii. We have no Genuine dealers so I'm quite on my own. Obviously I don't know anything about the specific area where you live, but I do know that all of the major islands of the state of Hawaii have scooter rental shops. Several of them ...

I'm a current and very happy 170i owner and am looking to purchase a Blur 220. The people on this string seem to be passionate about the Blur, thus my message here. A few answers and thoughts, please: How's the reliability of the Blur? Is the performance significantly higher than the Buddy? Has any...

Front brake pad life expectancy?
Has anyone changed the front pads yet? I am at 9500 and curious as to how long the pads will last. They seem fine at the moment(very squeaky, but they have always been that way).

Thanks a bunch. I went with the Hiflofiltro HF183 Premium Oil Filter just cause it would get here faster and did not want to buy four. You should have gotten the HF197- you will find it almost impossible to remove the 183 due to the confined location. I bought the special removal tool and still cou...

Re: Bought the Blur. Might also get the Vespa
I bought the Blur yesterday and I believe it fits me as well as I could hope. I can flat foot at a stop but I feel a little big upstairs. It's my first scooter and I have nothing to compare it to. I guess I will know when I get to try the Vespa if it is more suited to me. If so, I may own two scoot...

A huge factor should be the ride characteristics. At 63 you may need a smoother ride. The Blur is very firm riding especially over bumps. I had a Vespa GT200 for several years and it rides like a luxury car in comparison. The engine is also much smoother on the Vespa. I would certainly not buy befor...

I love my Blur 220i but Its too light for the highway. I did a long test drove on a new BV350 but it wasn't as much fun as my Blur. Re: Questions About Getting a Blur
Hi Everyone! I'm looking at getting a new 2016 Blur this spring but I have some questions. Do they make a top case for it? I know, I know, the style of the Blur doesn't really lend itself to a top case sitting off the rear but I'm a bigger guy (290lb) and will be doing a little highway driving with...

I think I have this figured out for anyone else that may have the issue. I went ahead and took apart the damaged key to see how it works. Has anyone had to get a new key for their Blur? I accidentally kicked mine as I was getting on and bent it slightly. I tried fixing it, but the metal is pretty soft. My dealer installed the Michelin Power Pure. It seems good so far. Not sure about a 130 fitting the front as someone just posted it wouldn't. As for removing the rear wheel- that is a big job.
