I think only MacGyver could attach a milk crate to the stock grab rail.
The rear rack is the only way to go, but once you have it it's only a few dollars in mounting hardware from a local lowes/home depot to secure a milk crate.

While you can get a complete seat/shock lower kit from Scooterworks for $247, which lowers the seat height 3", that and some 1"+ souled boots which would defiantly solve your problem, you also have to have the "leg strength" to keep it upright just in case a little tipping occurs...

I'd check over on Scooterdawg, they might have more specific info regarding Chinese scooters. I'd take the seat pan out and make sure no electrical or vacuum hoses came loose when you hit the bump, if everything looks connected go ask on scooterdawg. But for the record, your problem is it's a BMS.

Big question, are you new to scootering or anything on 2 wheels? If so I'd say the 125, that extra grand can fix up the scooter, get some accessories if needed (rear rack, windshield etc) and good riding gear. If you are familiar and have your own gear already, i'd say the BJ.

I've never understood why they don't leave them wired up along with the dot blinkers for the US market. Like the buddy, the bulbs are still in there and more visibility is better, right? I installed a BOB adapter on my GF's buddy and having the running lights plus extra blinker looks pretty rad.

My Kymco Like had the same issue, turned out to be caked on belt dust (from a fairly new belt) in the variator keeping the sliders from transitioning smoothly. A good blow out of that buildup every once in a while is good.
