Sometimes you will see that symptom with a partially or completely clogged idle jet as well. Good job of troubleshooting.

And no, Piaggio is not a cousin of the Buddy. The Buddy is manufactured by PGO in Taiwan. Piaggio is the manufacturer of the Vespa.

Hard to believe that replacing a tire, a muffler, and a gasket would cost more than the value of your scooter. Tell us more about the "oil leak".

Don't need to guess. The G400c is made by Shinray in China. Shinray also builds the very similar Mash line of motorcycles currently sold in Europe.

As I recall, the stock Buddy rack was redesigned years ago after numerous reports of a weak weld on the rear brace breaking. We have had a stock rack on our Buddy for 10 years with no problem.

Buddy owners have been known to put even bigger batteries in their scooters, but never a smaller battery.
