If the resistance on a 10 gauge wire is high enough to impact the voltage reading on the battery, then there is something wrong with the wire.

Seconded. It's fuel injected, and runs at about 40psi. Top it off with fresh gas, and don't be surprised if the idle is a little chuggy till the next tank, but otherwise you should be fine.

Put the battery you bought off amazon on the tender to fully charge it, and check your main fuse on the red wire. If it's blown, you will have no power to the bike.
