Oh. Dear.
Aside from the sound, the cinematography, the script, the acting, and the porn-movie music, it's... sorry, it's still pretty bad. _________________

They should have had a contest and let people do their own and pick the best one. Then maybe give out a ScooterWorks gift card or something. Everybody wins! _________________

hmmm, don't think I would have used the sound of a stebel nautilus to for the clunkers. I associate that sound with genuine buddies, since everyone I know with a buddy either has an international, blackjack, or retrofitted their bike (like I did). Better to have used a weak meep meep.

Aww, cute. In a b-movie, campy, grins-while-shaking-head kinda way. I think that was the point, though...so well done!
I took the horn sounding as the warehouse doorbell. Poor clunkers couldn't speak for themselves, their guts were shorted out! _________________ No rest for the wicked, where there's a whip there's a way, and all that jazz.

okay a bit confused.....the article says any titled scooter but in the video at 2:44 the girl says she never got the title and then she gets the $300 credit. So do I need a title or not? _________________ MB Member #322

Did you miss the whole "Bush League Productions" part? I think they know it's pretty campy, amateurish and not Oscar-level material. It's very tongue in cheek, with a point. I'm not saying it's Ed Wood great, just that I think everything you see there is pretty intentional.

Talk to your dealer. Do you have a clunker? _________________ Eric // Flickr group // LA Scooter Meetup Group // twitter: @scooterism // Whatever it is, it's probably your rollers.

Actually it says "titled". Probably reffering to a motorized vehicle that can be titled, not necessarily having one. So gas powered kick scooters with a 25cc engine need not apply... that's my impression of it at least. _________________ EZPZ #65

Oh, I know it's not supposed to be professional quality. But with current gear even amateurs can produce better quality video than that, so unless there's some stylistic reason for making it below-par quality, it just looks like not caring.
And like I said: even ignoring the production values, it's still bad marketing. What exactly is the "point" being made? That Genuine dealers are nutjobs who like to destroy scooters? That they'll ridicule your scooter (and by implication your judgment in buying it) when you bring it in... even making fun of its name (a bit glass-housey)? I find the whole "kooky foreigner" persona off-putting, not endearing, and I felt sorry for the poor woman watching her purple scooter being smashed for no apparent reason. It's all so negative, to the point of seeming anti-scooter, with just a few seconds at the end showing people enjoying their Genuine scoots (well, actually just sitting on them), apparently as an afterthought. It just seems as poorly thought-out as it is produced. _________________

I love it, and it makes me kinda wish that I had some cheap Chinese junker to trade in, but then that would have meant that I would have had to pay for some cheap Chinese junker first. I'm so glad I didn't let my penny-pincher side do my decision making.

oh come on. it's pretty cute.
i love the fact that when the last girl liz is telling her story, you can see employees watching over the cubicle.
i hope people use this promotion to get out of their flimsy scooters and into something that will make them enjoy scooting even more.

Oh yeah, and why does that one chick pay the guy fifty bucks to demolish her scooter? That made no sense. _________________

I could only watch 60-seconds of that video before I turned it off. It would be so easy to mention numerous criticisms.
I realize that everyone is trying to save money however that video was way too unprofessional and campy. The 60-seconds that I watched actually makes GSC look like a shifty business operation.
Eric Calm, since we are the biggest fans and supporters of GSC, I'd like to propose that Genuine first run it's marketing ideas before us before releasing it to the general public who, in this case, are trying to choose which new scooter to buy. Said another way, I'd be happy to give my free feedback to GSC as part of its test marketing.

I'm kind of dismayed that they smashed that Derbi GP1, I have a friend with one, and he could have used the spare parts. He'd actually just ordered a taillight from Germany a week ago.
Derbi's a Spanish company now owned by Piaggio and they're good bikes, I don't know if that was supposed to be a subtle jibe at Piaggio or what, and sure, maybe the engine was beyond repair, but if it was a more-recognizable Aprilia or Piaggio, people'd all be up in arms. _________________ 2strokebuzz: When news breaks, we put it under a tarp in the garage.
