I wrecked my Roughhouse last week and the only damage was a cracked heat protector. Its just plastic anyway, so I didn't think there was much function, other than safety. Is there any harm is taking off the heat protector on the stock exhaust, other than the risk of burning myself on the hot pipe?

That's all it is...a heat protector. I took mine off, but didn't like the look of the ugly, discolored exhaust so I put it back on. _________________ Malossi 70cc Kit

Cool, thanks.. yeah, it doesn't look too pretty but I don't really have a choice after cracking the other one in half... I guess I will just have to deal with it until I can afford a nice, new Prima system.

Its definitely plastic on the RH. I wish it was coated aluminum, maybe then it wouldn't have snapped in half...

Thats alright, I'm having a stainless steel one made for me to replace it. Hopefully that will be a little stronger and look a lot cooler too... Thanks anyway.
