I was down in Key West for 10 days & I just arrived back yesterday. All the scooters down there are 50cc's The Yamaha Zuma is king down there because there is a dealer right in KW (Florida Keys Cycles) He also brought on Genuine scooters about 2 years ago. I did see my fair share of Buddy 50's & Kymco Super 8 & Agility 50's as well.

Anyway...I noticed a decent amount of TGB scooters down there, but they all looked older. I called Cobra/Peirspeed & spoke with a nice guy from Georgia & he told me that they stopped importing TGB in 2009. He said...TGB kept pushing the fact that they were going to create their own USA network & wanted more (cost-cutting measures) from Peirspeed. Why should Peirspeed continue to establish the TGB name in the states & have TGB walk away from them he said.

In the end, it's too bad because TGB is a decent scooter company. I owned a 101S or a Key West (as the renamed it later) 50cc 2T scooter years ago & it was a real gem.

The first scooter I rode was a TGB Laser 150 my friend had. I nearly bought it from him before the Sportcity caught my eye.

My dealer and riding buddy told me this week that Peirspeed is running an
EBay ad for the R9i TGB/Peirspeed models at $300.00 below dealers
cost. House cleaning, I guess. He was a dealer for them and the warehouse/office was less than 50 miles from us. I have owned 3 TGBs and theywere all top flight. I still have 2, a TGB Delivery 150 and a
R9i hack with a Cozy side car. Sold my TGB/ Peirspeed 50 cc Delivery
recently. I will keep these two until they, or I, kick the dust.
I would like t see TGB enter the American market but doubt that they will. Scooter'sales here are weak compared to the rest of the world and it might
not be profitable for them to do it.
I cant say enough good about my 2012 Buddy 170i. As good if not a bit better than my TGB's Clap

Actually was surprised at the styling of the TGB. Not too bad.
