I've had my eye on 2t Stella's for years. Almost got one a year ago but the deal fell through. Today I got a 2004 2t with 1800 miles on it. I paid $550. It only runs with the choke pulled and the body has some character. I have rebuilt many 2 stroke jetskis (15 years ago) as well as 2 stroke outboard motors and lawn equipment. I have a special place in my heart for 2 stroke engines.

I plan on pulling the carb and giving it a full tear down and cleaning. While I'm in there is it advisable to make any jet changes? The pipe is stock, for now. I'm sure there's a few other issues I didn't discover yet too but for now, I'm just trying to get it running right. BTW I'm in Philly if there's any good local shops to get parts etc please feel free to share

Stella 2T

Congratulations, on the 2T. I too am just entering the world of the Stella 2T. I've only had mine since July (not quite a year), and have only gone out on short trips to work and back. (It needs to stop raining)

Agreed on the carb rebuild, that's probably the major issue. I highly recommend ditching the stock exhaust and upgrading. My stock exhaust catalytic converter was too restrictive, and probably plugged with soot. I put the SITO+ on mine and I swear it gained two horses. The difference is amazing in the way the engine breathes, revs, and develops torque. It is more than slightly louder, so be warned. The suggested jet changes worked for me. Reference...

Body character is what they make stickers for !

Welcome to the fold.

Pulled the carb man was it awful. Instead of the normal black gunk, this had white film in it. Never seen this stuff before. A little googling came back with phase separation of fuel. The gas tank was full of it also. What a nightmare. When i drained the tank, the gas looked like orange juice. I cant believe it ran on that stuff.

Now shes running good. Going to keep fixing small things on it before I make any upgrades.

Any reason to add a battery? I dont mind kick starting it. Looking to add a tachometer.

Here's a website in the UK where the Stella is known as the lml star. Full of really good information but unfortunately you cannot register to join. I presume the owners have left it up as a good source of information which is good.
