Man, I just watched this episode last night. That was one of the most hilarious episodes yet! Though the way Clarkson parked his scooter(simply letting go and letting it land where it would) hurt to watch.

Bump!

The b/f surprised me last night (after returning from a 1/2 hour ride to charge up the battery...thanks snow) by having it queued up and ready to watch on the tv through sources that shall remain unspoken. It is simply fantastic. Makes me want to go and I hate humidity.

Features a VietBodge Vespa, a Honda Cub (yeah!) and a Russian Minsk motorbike.

If you want to watch online:

Part 2 (15 minutes): http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Top-Gear-Vietnam-Special_208399.htm

I LOVE that episode!

I love all of the episodes that feature some sort of challenge.
Top Gear actually inspired us enough to have a challenge of our own:
give three riders $300 and two months to find and prepare a bike.

Here's the results: http://www.motorbyte.com/mmm/pages/2009/108/feature108.htm

Pictures from the event:

What a great challenge! I recently picked up two Honda 350s for $300 total...at this point I have one of 'em running. If only the snow would go away...

Fans of Clarkson might enjoy his article about the economy (here)

but what I'm most concerned about is the fact that he mentions there's a whole segment that was cut from the Vietnam episode featuring "the Stig’s Vietnamese cousin. This had been tough to make. We’d located a local motorcycle stunt rider, we’d shipped a bike over from Japan, we’d done two recces and written several treatments, and 25 people had spent a whole day filming the scene under a sticky sky and watchful gaze of government officials who kept wanting to see the rushes."

What are the chances we'll ever see it? Anyone have a source?

Anyone have a currently working link for online viewing? Streetfire's been removed, and what I see on YouTube is highlights or something.

Weather's starting to warm up and I'm considering making watching this a tradition. I suppose I *could* spend the $19 for the whole season on DVD, but I want to watch NOW!!!!

Thanks JSharp. My parents get me an iTunes gift card every year for Christmas and I never know what to do with it... perhaps because I never think of iTunes when there's something I want...

I have that episode on my iPod, I just love it when Jeremy goes down on the bike just as he is starting to enjoy it.

i *think* it's the last episode of series 11 (the last episode available on netflix).

We're about a year behind on BBC America, and six months behind that on DVD, and another year behind that on Netflix. so..... it was filmed about 3 years ago.

I'm shocked, shocked. All of my youthful assumptions are shattered. Is there such a thing as too much dong?

Not in my experience, Twisted Evil but I'm really not as much of a tramp as the rumors say, so I could be wrong about that.

just finished watching it! ROFL The bucket and wok helmets were histerical, but nothing tops hauling a model antique warship across all of Vietnam! Thanks for sharing that, although I was a little late to the party.

The one that blows me away is James hauling that boat anchor of a statue around on the back of a Cub 50s between Da Nang & Hue. Those Cubs don't have a lot of power (speaking from experience when I rode one there over Christmas). When I was there last year, our tour bus did not take that road to Hue. The tunnel is much faster, and that road is extremely dangerous with lots of twists, and fatal accidents occur on that road often.
