I don't know which ones are good, but this is why I'm joining a motorized two-wheel organization as soon as I'm not living on student loans. And urging them to lobby for seriously increased penalties for this type of mindless killing.

That story makes me incredibly angry. RIP Anita. So sad.

When I sit on my scooter at lights, I constantly scan my mirrors for fast approaching vehicles. I've been in 3 serious accidents in my life. In all 3 instances I was stopped at a light and was hit from behind by drunk drivers at a high rate of speed. Fortunately, in all 3 instances I was in a big truck with a heavily reinforced bumper. If I had been in anything less I probably wouldn't be here.

I have nothing nice to say about that automobile driver. I would never be able to sleep soundly after murdering somebody with my car. Godspeed Anita.

As a detention officer in the local county (500+ inmate) jail, I see this sort of thing altogether too often. Whether it's alcohol, meth, fingernail polish or talking on the phone, it boils down to inattention. And in my mind, that's unforgiveable. In this case, inattention deprived an unknowable number of people of their friend, mother, sister, wife, grandmother, aunt...all because some fool decided to paint her stupid nails.

My ex-wife says I've become cold and hard since I've taken this job...this is why.

The thing I don't understand is that if the woman was painting her nails while handeling a gun then she'd be in jail right now. I hope that this weighs on her conscience until it suffocates her. Really, a fellow biker lost her life becuase some dumb asre wanted to look pretty. This is totaly screwing with my head, I am going to the dealership today to look at a Ruckus for my wife. Anita was someone's daughter, may have been someone's wife and someone's mother. The driver didn't just murder one person, she murdered many. This person should be in prison and never allowed a licsense again.

This is terrifying.

I used to post about this type of stuff, not real people dying, but examples of things that have happened before. It's funny that people dont care much until someone really does die.

People used to laugh and tell me they'd rather go out in a ball of flame, they're tough and can handle death, blah blah blah, they wont feel a thing since it's so instant. But remember in death, you're not the one who feels the pain, your friends and family are.

I just stopped for good and ignore this stuff now because people always think they know what's best for them when they dont.

$10 says that unless they find the driver was drunk or on drugs at the time, she won't face anything more severe than the ticket she already got or a small fine.

Drive drunk or under the influence and people will want you burned at the stake, but just being a murderous, ignorant twat is still OK.

Don't apologize, Keys. This is EXACTLY the sort of stupid crap that makes people rant. I'm so disgusted I can't even find the words to express it.

Society as a whole doesn't think motorcycles or scooters should be on the road. If you killed someone by driving up on the sidewalk and hitting a pedestrian, the same type of inattention would have people up in arms. To your average Joe, we're "asking for it" and sometimes we just "get what's coming" to us.

...it's bad enough we have to deal with idiot drivers on their cell phones, watching their GPS systems instead of the road ahead, and entertaining themselves watching installed video systems in cars, without having to deal with self-centered IDIOTS like this. If there is any justice in the world, her next nail color will be prison orange. Hope she is convicted, at a minimum, of vehicular manslaughter, with extenuating circumstances. And that she likes her new cell mate, Big Bertha.

It should really be simple case of taking her license to drive away, forever. Someone that careless shouldn't be on the road period. Driving any kind of vehicle is a privilege, but too many people fail to forget this.

Here texting while driving is getting all too out of hand, and it has me concerned that I'm going to be killed due to someone LOLing.

As for real punishment, this woman has to live with the fact that she took the life of another for something as petty as nice looking nails.

I question the ability to empathize or feel guilt and remorse in someone who is unable to properly assess the danger in behaving this way to begin with.
