trouble starting ... and at 9k what maintenance?

Post by sunshinen »

starting up my scooter seems to be getting finicky. it also occasionally stalls at lights.

starting, it sometimes does one attempt at turning over and then nada or a Kaa-chhh kind of sound. sometimes it will sound like it started and then immediately stall. sometimes it starts fine. it's getting progressively worse.

the last time i had it in to a dealer, they did a "valve adjustment" (when the symptom i was complaining about was caused by a need for new roller weights). and i have had minor stalling issues ever since.

i am just going to assume that in all those trips to the dealer for the 5k service, 8k service, etc, nothing has been done other than oil changes.

So... is the starting thing likely the battery? or something else?

could a dirty air filter or carb or some other maintenance issue be the culprit?

i changed out the roller weights. what other maintenance things should likely have been done by 9100 miles??
