How do I make a picture smaller (to use for my avatar)

Post by michelle_7728 »

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've been looking and "Searching" all night and have seen no refernce to this. So here's what I've done so far: Have a ".jpg" picture that was originally 434K. Right-clicked on it, said "Send to email recipient", then selected "make all my pictures smaller". Saved to my hard drive. Result was that the picture is now around 63K. BUT, I can't find a way to make the picture any smaller than that. (Same process doesn't result in any smaller pictures).

I've seen several avatars that look like they must be personal photos, so there must be a way to do this and it's just eluding me.

Any tips? Here's my picture. :D

Thanks for any suggestions!

you can use a photo editing software (like photoshop) and scale the image to a maximum of 128x128 and then that will work, if you dont have a photo editing software, i will scale it for you and if you PM me your e-mail ill send it to you.

Also, Microsoft Picture Manager , which is part of MS Office, is easy to use for that.

Picture > Resize > One the right you can change the size. I like using a predefined size from the drop down list.

i use paint, open the picture, go to 'image' and resize, and type in the dimensions. i usually put 15 x 15 or u could go smaller if that doesn't work

I use the free app image resizer. It works as a right click popup and is easy to use.
