A friend of mine is thinking of buying a scooter from Sam's Club and wanted my opinion on it. I went and looked at it and it appears to be 125cc (maybe, it's not labelled) and branded as "IC" or "ICI" (hard to tell).
I'm guessing it's a Chinese knock-off and I couldn't find anything about it on the web. Does anyone have any specific information on this brand?
"ICI Scooter"? Anyone know what that is?

If you import enough of them the factory will paint them up as "pugbuddy" brand scooter. The name means nothing. Roll the dice, it will run for awhile and then start breaking. He'll either have to sell it while it's running and take a little lose or end up with $999 piece of scrap.
You can't find a used scoot?

That should probably tell you all you need to know. Tell your friend to stay away!pugbuddy wrote:I'm guessing it's a Chinese knock-off and I couldn't find anything about it on the web.

There's some ammo for you to talk him out of it, especially get him to think about how much you're paying, then think about the fact that the manufacturer, distributor, and dealer are all making money AND paying for shipping across the Pacific AND across the US. Usually if you do the math, the thing cost a couple hundred bucks to make, do you trust that to propel you through traffic safely?
