That's why this thread is "revisited." I think Quadrophenia and Roman Holiday are the big ones!

Add Big Hero 6 to the list of movies with a scooter scene, albeit animated. The scooter scene is pretty well done. The rest of the movie is amazing, not to be missed.

Last year's "Spring Breakers" had a scene with the 4 (or was it 5?) outlaw college young ladies, who were the principal characters, blasting down the streets on Buddy scooters. I suspect they were Buddy 50s.

Repo Man - Ska band The Untouchables horse around on Vespas before kicking Otto's ass.
The Legend of Billie Jean - the whole plot stems from a bunch of bullies destroying Christian Slater's Honda Elite.

How about
Mr. Peabody & Sherman? There's a very familiar looking sidehack that gets a decent bit of screen time. Legshield looks like it was a partial cutdown, but the rest is distinctive:

Off the top of my head.
Cheeky British comedy Heartlands takes place all on a Honda Cub with some scooter vs motorcycle humor.

and Odd Thomas, The main characters ride a vespa in quite a few scenes.

Both are on netflix

Just re-watched Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. It was filmed entirely in Rome, Italy, which is really cool, esp. in 1953. Lots of Vespas. Audrey rides one and gets out of control, causing damage, and they are taken to the polica station. I guess Vespa means "wasp" in Italian.

Dunno if this counts as it's not a movie but in the series, "Dead Like Me", the main character's dad rides a Vespa.

I think I'd be more entertained spending 90 minutes staring at my scooter instead.

I was watching "White Christmas" starring Bing Crosby and there was a cool scooter in it. The scooter looked similar to the one in the pic below, but it had an an aircraft style fairing on the front wheel, rather than a fender.

Probably a better guess. Something more like this, perhaps?

I do believe the red Salsbury looks like the on in White Christmas. A telegram delivery man rode the scooter.

Ha! I liked Encino Man when it came out, but I'd probably agree with you if I saw it now.

I remember them! I miss the 1980s....
Just WOW. I miss the 80's too! Love the guy in the middle on all fours with the "come hither" look. Had to give this one a bump.
