a dum question from.......me

Post by birdmove »

I dragged my wife to the local Genuine scooter dealer because I wanted to look at new Stellas and Rattler 125s. Of course we looked at the Buddys too. When we bought my wife's new scooter a year and a half ago, the Buddy 125 lost by a nose to the SYM HD200, partly due to freeway legality.
Anyway, as we are looking at Buddys, my wife says-hey whats that? pointing at two cricular marks at the front body work of a new Buddy. First I thought they were shipping damage, since the marks looked like a piece of thin pipe about an inch in diameter may have slid into the body work. But then we looked down the line and they all had it.

Anyone know what I'm trying to explain here? Anyone know why they have these round marks?

thanks, jon

They are knockouts so you can access the threaded adapters to mount a front rack.

They are knockout points to install the brackets for the front rack.

(oops, looks like two replies passed in hyperspace)

If you don't like the cutouts and don't want a front rack, just cover them with sticky decals like I did. I used a mod logo over one and a Corazzo logo over the other.

Well, just don't run in and cover all the holes at the scooter store - wait until you buy one.

if you upgrade the James Bond edition Buddy, it's where the gun barrels come out of.

if it was a 125 or 150 2 stroke it would be easy to hit 88
ive hit 52 on a ported stock bore 50cc
ive hit 63 on a 70 with stock crank stock gears stock carb and touring pipe so 70 is doable 80 maybe faster would push the streetability

im not much into 4 stroke mods but im sure it can be done heck if you have the money for a fc you can make the mods
