Are the Buddy 50 and 125's discontinued...?

Are the Buddy 50 and 125's discontinued...?
Both models are overstock from 2009. When clicking them on the Genuine website, nothing comes up. I had noticed the same thing happened last September when I tried to look up the (now) discontinued Rattler 110.
My dealer in Boston said that he has a bunch of 150cc and 170cc models coming in, but nothing smaller.
Are the remaining 2009 Buddy 50 and 125 models the last in their size from genuine?

any 150s that he has comeing are leftovers as the 170 is replaceing the 150
maybe he just didnt book any 50s for the may delivery and cant get any
i had heard that there was no need to prebook your order early this spring but then i was just in a shop that said being we didnt prebook more then a few we porably wont get many if any

I know the Roughouse 50 sells will in Boston; wonder if that's not the case with the Buddy 50.

Not so much. But it's become kind of a sleeper hit, from what I've heard. More aftermarket stuff is hopefully coming. I would not doubt that the Roughouse days might be numbered.
I was curious about getting another Zuma 50 as a modification side project, but two Yamaha dealers in my area told me that they are no longer being manufactured (nothing to do with earthquake--Zuma is Taiwanese). The Z50 is the most popular 2T in the country. If that is on its way out, others will likely follow.

I think there's a big difference in what companies like Yamaha and Honda can/will offer compared with Genuine. A company like Yamaha can take something with lukewarm sales out of its lineup, when similar sales for another company might make it a huge hit. Genuine also has a dealer base that is still primarily scooter shops, not motorcycle/powersports shops that happen to carry scooters. (Where 50s are even less likely to sell.) The 50s are good sellers in many states because of lax licensing, registration and insurance requirements and as a "DUI scooter." YES! I don't care about "lax registration" but it is beyond foolish that we aren't required to insure these things here. My $500k liability-only policy costs me like $100/year. I'm really surprised the Roughhouse hasn't done better. It's got the exact same guts as the Buddy, but with a little more cargo room and beefier tires which come in handy when you hit Boston potholes. Not knocking the Buddy at all, just surprised how much they outsell the Roughhouse. Then again, maybe those reasons are why the Roughhouses are doing well in Boston.

yamaha brought back yellow last year and this years colors are blue and white
yamaha didnt spend the cash to get the zuma 50 brought back into the us to drop it after only 2 years
and the fact that yamaha still sells many 2 strokes in europe i doubt it will be dead any time soon
more then likely your local dealer didnt prebook any or very many zuma 50s

more then likely dealers starting rumors so they can charge a premium if they do get any or makeing an excuse to cover up there mistake
and i havent heard anything about them being killed off on the zuma board and yamaha lists a 2011 on there website
and you know more often then not on the boards we know before the dealers
now the vino 125 is dead and the majesty is out for now dont know if the majesty is dead or just too many left overs to bring in one for 2011

Both good scooters IMO. Interesting that Yamaha is sharply reducing the number of models it imports at the same time Honda is increasing their scooter line-up. The big Japanese companies seem somewhat on again, off again in their approach to the US scooter market. Yes the Boston dealer we bought one RH50 from confirmed it was a great seller. It was the only 50cc shop bike to test drive too. And we were competing (sort of) with another shopper for the last one in the state!
Never fear, we found another 2012 RH50 1:45 away in CT. But it was a tough find for sure....

The Boston Dealer sold all of his within a week and the CT dealer had just received his RH's Friday before last. We bought the last one around in NH, RI, MA, VT and CT. An upstate NY dealer had a NOS 2009 seafoam one though...

The dealer said if I had any problem before I rode it he would buy it back at full price because he already started a waiting list between the time I place a deposit on the phone and drove down to pick it up...(a span of 3 hours).
