Women's Jackets
After reading a thread on here about clothing, I realized I should probably get at least an appropriate jacket and gloves. I've been looking at the bomber from Corazzo, but I don't know if it will be too warm. I live in Atlanta and it's ridiculously humid for about 4 months out of the year. Like the shoe thread, I'm trying to find something I can wear into work when it gets colder and still look nice.
Anyone have a jacket they love that won't cause heatstroke in 95+humidy?

The only jacket I would wear under those conditions is a mesh jacket. I have a motoport kevlar mesh jacket, they are very expensive but you can find decent mesh jackets for a lot less.

For the summertime I wear the Corrazo 5.0. I am in Pensacola FL so I know all about the derned heat and humidity! I'm not going to say that it's like wearing an ice pack around and there are days when I sweat a bit but I made it through all summer without passing out. It has good zipper vents that can be opened when needed. It is very spiffy and has great reflective strips on it.
The only negative I can say about it is that if you don't keep the top collar closed then the velcro on the inside of it tends to catch my helmets chin strap. I find that a bit annoying at times but nothing that would keep me from continuing to wear it.
I know this doesnt speak to the bomber jacket but I figured options were good!

I get too hot to function in anything but a mesh jacket at temps over 85°. That's in the dry LA climate, too.
Sadly, mesh jackets rarely look good. They are quite effective at cooling you when riding though—actually keep you cooler than not wearing a jacket. Until you stop.
I have the Corazzo Ventata mesh. It's become indispensable for riding in high heat.
Also, buyers can donate $1 of their purchase at MotorcycleGear.com to Modern Buddy. We don't get cash—we get stuff we can redeem for contest prizes.
Just haven't done anything with it in a long time. Maybe we need a summer contest of some sort!

Don't forget about GoGo Gear jackets. Super stylish and they do have some mesh ones (I forwent one as it just doesn't get hot enough for long enough to justify it up here).

Joe Rocket makes a great mesh jacket. And it isn't ugly either!

Just got that one a few weeks ago for my GF. Her Buddy is the same color as yours and nearly a perfect match to the blue FG womens contour jacket. I wish they had mens styles on clearance for that price.Rippinyarn wrote:Check out Motorcycle Gear for a women's mesh jacket - the prices cannot be beat!

I have this same jacket in the white, super cute, high visibility, zip out rain liner and lots of air flow. Lighter color makes a huge difference on sunny days. I love this jacket. Oh, yes, and totally armored, including back.CupcakeLawyer wrote:Joe Rocket makes a great mesh jacket. And it isn't ugly either!

Saw the subject of this post and thought it was just some guy asking if they could wear a women-specific jacket.
While not out of the question, the reason I bring this up is because it has seemed to me that women's riding gear - outside of really fashion-specific stuff and boots - is a little cheaper than men's gear.
So, is it silly to buy women's pants or jacket or other gear? Do they really fit totally different?
Thanks,

I have Corazzo's 5.0, and it's way too hot for me in Texas. (The bomber looks like it might be a little thinner.) I'm in Dallas, not very humid but plenty hot. I got really overheated last weekend wearing it. So I've ordered a scorpion mesh jacket from motorcycle superstore. If the mesh one's too hot, I'm just riding sans armor in the summer.
@jeff
women's stuff is cut for a woman's silhouette: hips, waist, bust, shoulders, arms. Unless women have commented to you that they're jealous of your figure, it probably would not fit you. The shoulders would be too tight, the bust would be too big, waist too tight, etc.
