Exhaust nut size?

Post by BuddyJ »

My Buddy's Prima exhaust has the wrong size nuts on its exhaust studs, making it rather hard to secure correctly. Some previous owner somehow wrangled 13mm nuts onto it. Darn near impossible to wrench down. I can't find the proper nuts on the Scooterworks site, but I found these NCY nuts. Anyone know if they'll work?

Anyone have a better suggestion if they wont? Thanks.

if the threads are messed up, just remove/replace both studs and get new studs and nuts for it.

I think Ace Hardware or any hardware store has them, ask for automotive studs and nuts.

I use them on my Turbo for the exhaust flange.

If your local Ace Hardware does not have what you need, try McMaster-Carr:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

This is a well organized site for just about anything. I used it to find a 7.3mm drill bit to use on undersize LP/Vinyl record holes for my turntable spindle. The drill bit arrived much sooner than promised.

I have friends and relatives who use McMaster-Carr and they recommend it also.

FYI, they are 8mm studs, I just bought a replacement nut for one side. Don't forget some loctite as well!
