I don't care what anyone else has. I want a Harley, I have ridden many bikes and the sportster 1200 fits my power needs and style needs. It's the best platform for my build direction.Keys wrote:Naw...you really don't. I've had 'em. No better than anything else out there. I love the Sportster as well and catch tons of heat from my friends cause they say it's a girls bike. Not only do I want a Sportster but I want the smaller displacement 883. Don't really need the extra power as I never really leave the city and it's way less expensive. They say I've been riding scooters for too long and don't know what a real bike is. I say Harley's "chick bike" is awesomeScooterTrash wrote:I don't care what anyone else has. I want a Harley, I have ridden many bikes and the sportster 1200 fits my power needs and style needs. Yeah, every time I talk about sporty's someone calls it a chick bike. I rode a scooter for 4 years, I bet I got more jokes about riding thatjasondavis48108 wrote:I love the Sportster as well and catch tons of heat from my friends cause they say it's a girls bike. I've never been accused of riding "a girls bike".ScooterTrash wrote:Yeah, every time I talk about sporty's someone calls it a chick bike.
In fact, my bike gets complimented by guys all the time.
Guess it all depends on what kind of Sporty you buy.

So your buddies give you a hard time about wanting a Sportster but one of your buddies rides a Sportster?ScooterTrash wrote:I love the look of the Iron but I rode my buddies and it wasnt enough motor for me.
This is his bike (I built the seat and mount)
Cool looking seat but that thing does not look comfortable.
Some people need to get to 60mph in 3 seconds instead of 4. In every other way it has more than enough power.

I have done 180mph on a gsxr 1100 and loved every second
In other words, if I'm getting a Sportster I'm getting a 1200
