Geniune Buddy Cupholder Thang? Any good?

Post by Loonz206 »

First thing I would like to say is this forum is the best forum I have ever seen on details on scooting in general. My girlfriend and I have just purchased a Buddy 125cc 2009 Blue Scoot and just got some shwag from Scooter-works in the mail. My question is...

Is the Genuine Buddy Cup-holder decent? My coffee has taken spills often while headed to work. I didn't pick it up and was wondering if it is a good investment considering the pocket under the headlamp seems a little weird.

Cheers and Thanks for having me...

Several people here have this, and they review it overall very well. it also looks a little less retarded than the suction cup holders IMHO.

Looks like I will consider the convenience side a little more in depth after reading the reviews it looks like it really stores some stuff...

I do like my Gen-u-Bin, but I rarely trust my cupholder. I've had drinks bounce out of there and smash onto the ground while going over (in-street) railroad tracks.

I also give "two thumbs up" for the Gen-U-Bin. Though I don't use the cup holder insert, so that my taller water bottle fits farther down, thus being more secure.

just search for Gen U Bin, you'll be fine.

I like mine, though it is not perfect. For the price it is good, and I'm able to keep a crescent wrench under for those pesky mirrors!

it doesn't really work for tall coffee, I would recommend the corazzo one that hangs from the hook for larger cups.

I have some Corazzo ones (jn black), I'll sell 'em for $8 with free postage. Pardon the spam. : ) IM me if you want one.

Bb.

Edit: come to think of it, I have a couple Gen-u-bins I'll sell cheap, too.

I just order a tall in a grande cup and it fits nicely. Snug. Get the little sip hole cork thing.

Also, the smaller Fiji water bottles fit nicely as do Odwalla bottles.

I use my Gen-U-Bin cup holder regularly.

Get it. Test it. Use it.

I use my gen-u-bin cup holder every time I ride. I had to modify the insert a little so that the cup fits snug. I brought a cup with a lid that slides open to drink so that it would not spill when I go over bumps. It has worked great.

I'm so impressed that people can drink coffee while riding. I know I'd be covered with coffee if I tried.

Red lights: Great for chewing gum, lip balm, and the occasional latte...

A Gen U Bin would actually prevent me from getting to my car cup of Orbit that I keep in my dash. Makes exhaust a lot easier to swallow.

Yes, Gen-U-Bin is a great mod. Great for keeping things a bit more organized.

I would like a retractable straw attachment that goes from the cup holder to my face.

You can remove the cup holder insert (leaving just a sizeable hole) and still use it for larger bottles and such. I often do that, then click the cup holder insert back in for the smaller cups (such as those I get at food stores).

Late to the party, but just wanted to say... this is an oldie but a goodie:

Mine still holds up very well. I haven't found anything comparable in price or convenience, for my purposes... which is primarily coffee. It's held up everything I've thrown at it.

I, too, took the insert out. Also, I try to order a small sized drink in a larger cup to have room at the top for potential spillage. I.E. a tall in a grande cup.

The Gen-U-Bin is a worthwhile addition, IMO.

I may have to try that holder that goes under the seat though! Nice!

Found a good replacement for the 'spensive Corazzo. Bought a Starbucks sleeve on clearance, tied some spare bungee to it, and voila, cup holder with room to spare for the big ole camelback in the storage area. $1.75 total.
