Who are you in real life?
Since this is still a relatively small board, I figure we may as well put names with faces...
Anonymity be damned!
This is me and my fiance. (She's the pretty one.)

Thanks. I uploaded mine to server space that Kent State is still kind enough to provide for me, but whomever hosts Modern Buddy seems to be generous -- more so than most other sites -- and lets you upload files: Click on Browse underneath the message window and attach whatever file you like -- just make sure it fits withing the 'Allowed Extensions and Sizes' requirements that are down there too.mlee10018 wrote:congrats..
how do you upload an image?
and do we know your name?
I posted it in another thread, but I suppose it's been a little while... My name is Chris.
Ha! What'd you do, V-C? And where are you in that picture? It looks like you're a bit away from the Bay Area.

I am a biochemist working at Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (say that three times fast!).AxeYrCat wrote: Ha! What'd you do, V-C? And where are you in that picture? It looks like you're a bit away from the Bay Area.
The picture above was taken on La Gloria Rd, which is near Hollister, CA- about 1.5hrs south of the BA. For those with an interest in such things, the full story of that ride is here. Around here there is a wide variety of terrain within a relatively short trip!

Actually, I spend way more time at Sport-touring.net than advirder. The latter is a great inspiration and has great photos, but the board is a bit much for me. I've done many rides with S-T.net folks, and they're a great bunch.jess wrote:Let me guess: You hang out on advrider when you're not here, right?
AxeYrCat, the bike is a 2002 KTM 640 Adventure. I just sold it to buy a scooter Yes, I am fickle and change my mind a lot, though I like to think it's just because I haven't yet found "the one."

Hi! My name is Jenny, and as the screen name implies, I once owned a Stella. I am a complete wimp, and now drive a Buddy, thankfully without the clutch. Anyway, I'm married to Steve and have two kids. David is 6 and Sydney is 5. I'd love to post a photo, but the file I have is too big and I'm not sure how to "shrink" it.

I'm gonna write about what you can't see in this photo. It's a typical Wednesday night ride with the Ten Year Lates scooter club of Cincinnati. We have a lot of different bikes in the club; among the riders that night were an additional two buddy's, a 27 horse power vespa p (with some modifications, in fact, I believe he was breaking his kickstart lever off as this photo was taken), several other vintage vespa's and labretta's, some stella's, and a 'small' yamaha v-star who showed up cause we have so much fun. XYL's rock!

I'm gonna push it
That does it!
I’m gonna push that dam EMO button just to see what it does, been struggling with it for some time now but I’m beginning to feel the freedom.

Small forum, yes, but these will still be here when it's a big one. The premier Buddy forum, no less.
Eric. Art director/graphic artist and sometime illustrator/animator, but most of my work is for Filter magazine. The Buddy will be my wife's and though she's prettier than I am, I'll wait 'til she gets it in a couple weeks before posting her pic. I will not let the Buddy's pinkness deter me from taking it out on some "test" rides to compare it to my LX150. Zoom.

I'm the sales manager at Motorsport Scooters. We mostly do Vespa parts and Kymco sales, but we just picked up the Genuine line and I'm here to learn and help. Here's me on a couple of my bikes. I know they are Vespas, but I don't own a buddy... yet. To see my smilin' face, you will have to come visit our shop.

Thanks! It was unfortunately crashed, but I have a new frame and fork for it, and it should be going back together shortly. The motor and the bars are still fine ,and those are my favorite parts. It was assembled from free parts aside from the performance items, the drop bars, and the tires.

Ok, so I guess I'll chime in, despite not having my Buddy yet (and since I may elect to go Blur instead...)
Anyways, I'm Andy or Dru, I'm a independent software developer. 4 days a week I code for Satori & Associates, a family business I'm part owner of. 1 day a week, I code for Stardock Systems (makers of WindowBlinds) and when I'm not working on one of those projects, I'm the owner of Druware Software Designs as well as a developer behind a couple of Open Source Projects like PostgreSQL for Mac.
So, yes, I'm a geek, but I'm also a dad, a husband, and recently a scooter owner, shopping for my second one.
How I ended up carrying the baby through the Chattanooga Aquarium I never figured out.
This one is alllllll my fault though. I lover Roller Coasters, so I drug the whole family on a road trip to Cedar Point.
It looked like a good place for a snooze..

It's 14 hours from here . We actually did a 4 park in 10 day trek, since I love CP for the coasters, and KI for the rides & park layout.
Started the trip with a 5 hour trek to Nashville to pick up my nieces, then ran another 3 hours up to L'ville, did KY Kingdom the next day, the a day of travel up to CP, a day in the park, then a day of travel back to KI, 2 days there (hit the water park too), then a day of travel back to Nashville, to drop off the nieces, and a half day home, then we ran out to Six Flags over Georgia for a day of light rides and redneck fun.
Turned out to be a great trip.
I've been going to KI for 20+ years, I've got family in L'ville, and that's a couple of hours up the road. I hadn't been to CP since the year Magnum opened, so I was due for a return trip. It was fun though, we got to ride the 3 of the top 10 steel coasters, and the top 2 wooden coasters in the world all in one week. Top Thrill is a hoot though. that thing could be 600 feet tall and it's still not high enough for you to get over the 'oh my god of that catapult' quick enough to worry about the how high am I .

Hi,
I'm new to this message board. I'm hangukhurley and I live in the Twin Cities (MN). This message board has been a very good resource since I just got my (pink) Buddy 125 on Saturday. I used to have:
2003 Geely (my first scoot)
2005 Tomos Streetmate
1986 Honda Elite 80 (I took my MSF course on this earlier this summer)
2006 Vino (which I inherited from my husband, who inherited it back!)
and now
2006 Buddy 125
