A proper appreciation to the scooter repair shop?

Post by still shifting »

They, on a busy Saturday, replaced my tail light bulb, which wasn't in stock, and charged me the price of the bulb only, no shop time. Do I drop off a 12 pack (and of what beer), a gift certificate for a pizza? What Kindness other than Thank You is appropriate? I am much older than these fellows and a bit out of touch with their tastes. By the way this shop is The Blue Smoke Garage here in Albuquerque... R

I love when local shops have a true appreciation for their clients. our local dealer does too. Love 'em.

I would ask what they'd like! ordering a pizza for them sounds great!

I find a nice 12-pack of a microbrew or something imported is always very appreciated. I've also bough them pizza to go with. Feels good and well worth it IMO.

Beer. I ask them what they like, sometimes just drop off a 12 of something interesting. My main mechanic likes crummy beer more than the good stuff!

Cupcakes and baked goods usually go over well, too.

Two dozen donuts and you will be looked upon as one of the customers that walks on water.

Trust me on this, I ran a shop for thirteen years.......the guy that brings donuts always gets special treatment.

Baked goods always go over well! Never know the alcohol policy for any particular shop.

The best thing for them...they have earned your trust for future business!

I have gone with two comp tickets for any non-broadway show at the university theater I work for when they really save my bacon ( which has only been once for a scooter shop but twice for our auto mechanic). I was able to get two upper balcony tickets to Les Miz for the mechanic who replaced our water pump for half the average dealer cost in less than 24 hrs the week before our wedding. He has always done us well since living in the city its hard to do your own auto work. He said later that it was his first Broadway show ever and REALLY seemed to dig it. Considering the miracle he pulled off I wished I could of swung backstage passes for he and his wife

Yes I think Donuts is the thing, I don't drink and am very out of touch with the modern beer scene. These lads are all still young and slender, so donuts it is... Thanks for the replys. R

Yup. I went to the brewery last time I was in town. I hadn't been in over 20 years; it's grown quite a bit!
