Alright, let me help out a bit....here's what a BlackJack should look like:
http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/715/3387/ ... eview.aspx

...and so far as I know, there are no 150s in gloss black...of course I could be mistaken.

Now this person isn't SAYING it's a BlackJack....

Good eye. Guessing it went down/into a wall and the owner ordered 'black' panels? sides don't necessarily look glossy.

Hmmm...could be. They also seem to have replaced the passenger foot pegs. Yeah, could well be a BlackJack that's had a mishap. :)

Well for starters, it's not a moped.

I'd go with partial panel replacement, as not all panels are glossy. The rear rack is incorrect too. However, why half-ass those items but get the seat, front brake, muffler, wheels and rear shock right?

The pictures are so small, but some of the details I can see it looks like a Black Jack... Small details, which I can't see all of, like the rear shock with the anodized adjusting collar is even there....but can't see the detail of the lower mounting eye... Some one went to a lot of trouble to make a clone if it is not the real thing???

The seller probably knows that. When listing something for sale, it's a good idea to use all of the terms that you think people will use in a search... even if it's incorrect or doesn't apply to yours. If I were selling my Buddy, I would've added "like Vespa". :)

I still see them flare up for sale now and again.

Right after I bought my buddy, there was one here for sale, 2200, with ever accessory possible. Had the cash in hand even, but I didn't think my wife would ever ride :P

Looks to me like a Buddy 125 with upgraded front brake, (maybe forks, I think those are NCY but might be stock?), wheels, seat, pipe, rear shock and blackjack logos.

The plastic bar is wrong (as mentioned above), and gloss finish is incorrect too.

Where is the oil cooler? I know the pictures only show so much but I'd be willing to say this is a 125.

Doesn't appear to have started out as a Blackjack.

I think it's been down but the seller's not selling a black jack. I got my Black Jack listed in Chattanooga Tn surpised that nobody as started a thread like this on it. It's satin white with blacked out chrome sure don't look like a Black Jack only thing missing is Prima pipe I like NYC better

Good catch - I can see how a newbie would have been suckered into buying that. I would always check the title from the seller against the VIN of the scooter to verify it is as it says.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for the price he's selling it for. With market prices, it's still a pretty darn good price.. It's not like it's marked up any higher then what a 09 150 would sell for... As long as some one isn't "tricked" into buying something he assumes to be something else. Wonder if anyone has called this guy and flat out asked him if it was a Black Jack????

If you like that price, check this one out for $1500. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/mcy/3835899348.html It's also in Seattle! Strange thing is the ad has been running for several weeks now. At that price you'd think it would have been long gone. Maybe it's not a real Black Jack! The pics seem to be stock photos rather than the usual CL owner taken pics so who knows what the seller might be up to.

I just paid 1475 for my 06 125..with 2000 miles on it, and felt lucky. Of course it's a one adult owner, bought from the local dealer, and always serviced there, always garaged, and just had the Routine service done, carb cleaned ( from setting since fall) oil and filter change and a new battery to the sum of 295.00.... all I usually see around here are the dozens and dozens of Chinese scooters in the 4-700 dollar range... Guess it all comes down to where you live....

Hello Michelle_7728; BuddyLand:

Even if this is not a real Blackjack, it still appears to be a Genuine Buddy.
At $2000 and only 970 miles on it, that is still a decent deal.

It has the white wall tires, red wheels, and upgraded exhaust pipe that a
Blackjack has. A Blackjack can do at least 60AMPH.

If this one your looking at in Seattle can go fast and get 80MPG as the seller claims........
I might compete with you to buy it, if that is what your thinking of.

Call up the seller ask question about ti. Check out the VIN# too.........

Hmmm.........you must not have read my response re. the $1,500 Black Jack also on Seattle CL. Well, if no one is interested and would rather spend $500 more for what you're discussing above, maybe I'll follow up on it. Unless it's one of those phony CL ads that gets you killed when you show up with cash in your pocket. It has happened.

Hello Skipper20:

I did read your add.....

I suggest if some is really interested, go check it out. If it is safe, goes fast like at least 60 AMPH, gets what they claim 80 MPG, and is not stolen or something shady like that, it may be a great deal!!

When I read the many post about people spending so much time, money, and attention to upgrading their own Buddy's to improve performance, and top speed, this questionable Buddy Blackjack may be one for them to look at.

Nope, not interested. Already have 3 scooters...2 of them Buddy's.

Just thought the ad sounded inconsistent. :D

Hello BuddyLand:

I call up the phone# for the scooter Michelle_7728 wanted to know in this thread.

The person says it can attain a speed of 63AMPH which would be likely what a Buddy Blackjack and or regular Buddy 150 would could should attain.

He was not familiar with what a Blackjack was as he was helping a friend sell this scooter. He also says there is nothing wrong with the scooter, just that the owner had no time to ride it. He offered to provide me the address where this scooter is located if I wanted to check it out more.

I seen a Blackjack up close 2 months ago, talked about it with its owner, and developed an interest in potentially buying one or a Buddy 170i.
