Redneck italia

Post by lovemysan »

I picked up this 07 italia for parts from pole120 over the 4th. After a carb clean it ran great so decided to fashion a seat because test riding sitting on the carb is painful. Image

Wow, I'm usually an advocate of trusting the engineers and keeping it stock, but yours is very clearly an improvement.

I could install a friction drive blender similar to the unit built in james may's manlab(see youtube). However I'm saving my cash for a gimble mounted cup holder and matching coozie.

Before you venture out, may I suggest an engineering revision? Cinch that bad boy down to the frame in the front with a couple sturdy tie wraps. Then you should be good to go.

P.S. Pix of this rig in motion will be much appreciated!

That's condensation from the ductwork. Hot weather + open garage door.

It's bolted to the frame tabs in front. I'm digging these shenko white walls.

Kind of solves the 'What backrest will work on my Buddy?' question.

Just gotta be kinda quick to get your feet down once stopped, eh?

So which of the parts from the furnice fit Itallia (did you canibalize some from the one I see with wires hanging out in the background)?

If you bolted a set of waterskis onto it you could probably cross small to mid-sized creeks/ponds with it if you hit them at speed.

Just an idea...

What you see there is a fix for the infixable. After the second winter of waking up with the heater not running twice a week and power cycling it to reset it. The tech and I removed the auto ignition components and installed a standing pilot. It's been perfect ever since. We're actually renovating the garage to make it more pleasant.

You've just invented the ultimate mobility scooter!

Be careful who you take home from the bar this weekend.

Rode it to friends house a mile away. I'm seriously considering building one of these a little bit better for daily use. Its insanely comfortable.

In another thread folks were discussing riding into their 80's. I think you might have the solution.

I am 3 years away from 80 and when I get there I plan to ride my hack more but hopefully will still be on 2 wheels. Or maybe a trike, depending on finances. Heck, I have a 1st cousin who hits the gym daily(I only do a 4 on 3 off schedule), still flies his own plane and he is 85.

Now that is clever! Wonder who made it? Looks like it could be street worthy.
When I get old I may need one of those.
