Derestricted Buddy 50 variator and now I can't kick start

Post by haxormax »

Hey guys,
I took off the restrictor ring as instructed in this video and now when I try to turn the kickstarter, it's just stuck.

It's brand new bike so I don't really care to kick start it now, but later I might need to. Any idea what I did wrong? The bike starts just fine and all that.

If the kickstarter won't move, that probably means the transmission wasn't properly re-assembled. I'd suggesting opening it back up and checking.

Let me ask you this, when the case is off, should the kick starter be engaging the swivled gear inside the external case?

::EDIT::

I figured it out. The kickstart gear and the swiveled gear separated some time while I was taking the case off. I didn't pre wind spring in there when I put it back on.

I took it off again and re tightened it. Works fine!
