Interesting. I wonder if it will be as durable as the Buddy 125.

So, we're finally getting the J-Bubu, plus a few ccs.

the water cooled motor should be reliable. I am excited to ride one.

I've seen it on the PGO website forever now, I'm glad we can finally get it. Hopefully the quality is on par with the Kymco Compagno, essentially the same bike. It is a bit pricey, though. Kymco just dropped the price on their Compagno and the Bubu is coming in just under a Buddy 170 in MSRP.

If it is the J-Bubu that we're getting, then it will be 115cc, oil cooled, 4V, EFI, ABS (by Bosch), LED tail light, and other neat features. Unless, of course, Genuine orders a watered down version of it. Looks pretty good, IMO. Just Google "pgo j-bubu" to find pictures and a youtube video. Maximum power - Output - Horsepower 9.39 HP (6.9 kW) @ 8500 RPM

Still, since my 150cc Buddy is only about the same, that's pretty awesome.

Is 9.39 HP for the 115? From what I remember the Buddy 125 is 9.5 HP and the Buddy 150 is 10.5-11 HP(I don't remember what the 170 is 12.5-13.5?) so this new one could be as fast as the 150.

The Genuine Buddy Kick spec sheet says 125cc and 4 valve makes 11hp

They've got Glossy Titanium, Turqoise, Tangerine and White coming to the USA.

That's great that they've upped the engine size to 125cc. I like the color choices and glad they've gone away from the boring flat finishes. I wonder what the MSRP will be?

Awesome news, i've silently been stalking the J bubu for years now hoping Genuine would pick it up. I love the trip computer you can also set to show your RPM, Flat footboard, LEDs, leg shield fuel door, bigger seat than the buddy with dual suspension and it's still got a cup holder. Some of the specs are different than what was in the picture that was posted here earlier and some specs/descriptions look like they were copied from the regular Buddy 125. And the "sale" price is actually just the retail price(lame.)

Am I the only one who thinks that this might be the end of the Stella? Since they have killed off the manual and the Stella auto hasn't exactly been a success... I fear that they are bringing this one over as its replacement. Hopefully I am wrong.

The Buddy Kick is at dealers, it would be nice to see some reviews.

I like the fact that you don't have to remove the headset to get to the brake fluid reservoir. Never quite understood why they have it that way on the Buddy.

My local dealer sells almost exclusively 50cc (moped) scoots and is holding off on ordering any Kicks for the time being. There is dealer 1.5 hours away that has one, a road trip might be in order.

1.5 hours, is that Midwest Action Cycle(aka Scoot Jockeys?) If not you might want to check them out, they carry a lot of scooters, they usually have all Genuine scooters in stock. I am going to stop in there next Friday to see if they have the Kick in.

Yes, they are who I am thinking of. I have visited the dealership a number of times and the selection has always been good. I made the trip down on my Buddy 125 a few years back, there are some pretty nice riding roads in your area.

Our dealership should be getting one in next week. I"ll post a video for those interested

Lake Geneva is a great scooter town, lots of good roads and a very active scooter club. If you ever want recommendations on good roads to scoot just let me know.

We got our Buddy Kick at the shop I work at yesterday.

I rode it this morning.

Initial reaction: Genuine has a winner in this bike!

Acceleration was very smooth and peppy (even at just half throttle like I was riding), and braking was as smooth as butter. I imagine it has to do with the dual disc brakes.

Plenty of storage under the seat. It also has a 12V charger (like the old Buddy/RH50s had...no usb port here...yet). It also has a "Power disconnector" switch under the seat, which disables the electric start.

Bonus points: Extremely easy to wheelie if that's your thing.

It's basically the same scooter as the Kymco Compagnio 110, except better in almost every way (I liked the scooter print floorboard of the Compagnio, personally).

A few grips:

- I wish the mirrors were longer.
- Should have a USB port like the current Buddy and RH50
- Front lower Turn Signals are disabled - No reason for them to be. Should have kept them connected in addition to the upper DOT turn signals (then again, we say that about the Buddy too, right?)

Overall, AWESOME bike. Highly recommend a test ride.[/list]

Thanks for the review. I had been thinking it looked a bit like the Compagnio as well.

How would you say the Kick compares to the standard Buddy for taller riders the space wise? It looks like it might be easy to slide back on the seat for a little more knee room.

The Kick sounds promising, I'm looking forward to seeing and trying one out.

Just got back from Midwest Action Cycle in Lake Geneva, WI and they have all four colors in. Quick impression- it seems like a solid scooter. Hopefully I will get to take one out for a test ride at some point.

Can't wait to find out how it compares to the Buddy 125/150/170 as far as acceleration and top speed.

It's not a tall bike at all. Honestly, the better option is the Buddy with footpegs installed. Sitting back might help a bit though.

Actually, I believe it is air-cooled AND oil-cooled, just like the Buddy 170.

Very nice size for a little urban runner; slender. Loved the bench-ish seat. Two of us squeezed on ok (maybe for limited distances).

If the published power is indeed what is claimed...hmmm...

Local dealer already had 3 of them up and out. Seemed like a cool little bike.

I had a close up look at one at AmeriVespa and rode to Beale Street in Memphis with Trey riding a turquoise Kick. VERY peppy and cool looking scooter. I loved it!!

Heh, with that long seat and ample floor board, I can easily see 4-5 people on this scooter, in Taiwan...come to think about it, I have. Lol

Saw one at the recent Philly rally. Not a tall person scoot, but it seemed very solid and well built. Very nice headlight design.
