Grinding/whistling noise

Recently my Buddy 125 has been making a minor grinding/whistling noise which seems to be coming from below the air filter cover. Occasionally while accelerating but mostly only happens if I'm maintaining a speed above 30 or more. Any ideas what this could be? Having a mechanic buddy of mine look it this weekend, but wanted to have some ideas for him. Any input would be great! Thank you!
