This sweet sweet desert heat

i live in Las Vegas, where we have been experiencing temperatures around 107-112 daily. about two weeks ago I noticed this “sticky, gooey gunk on the lip of my front inner compartment. I was initially confused, until I noticed the silver (or chrome looking) lining on the compartment was peeling off. I realized the adhesive used to glue the silver lip to the compartment was melting. I’ve been reluctant to rip it off, clean the adhesive off, and maybe put it back on, but the absurdity of this heat has really just inspired me to neglect nitpicky maintenance jobs until it dies down
