I know nothing about your scooter, but that sounds like it could be the starter solenoid.

That's a QMB139 engine, roughly the same bike as the Chicago Scooter Company "Go" model. Aside from the engine, it is not that different from the genuine models in terms of layout/wiring. I'm going to guess that your starter relay is bad. Trace the wire back from the starter up to the relay, and make sure you have a good connection there. Then, take a voltage reading on the line that is supposed to go down to the starter. If you have no power, backtrack to the line that supplies power to the relay and repeat the test. Keep going backwards till you find where the interruption is.

Your first image is the CDI. Your second image is the starter relay.

Tks. Batt voltage is 12.8

Batt plus to one red on starter relay is 12.8. the other red on relay is zero volts.

That same other red on starter relay to starter is 2.2 ohms.

Confusing is that same other red on starter relay to engine gnd is 5.8 ohms.

Ur thoughts?

Tks, paul

The thinner gauge wires that come from it go to the starter switch. If you apply 12V across those, but no clicky-clicky from the relay, then the relay is bad.

The lug terminals are for feeding the battery voltage directly to the starter, and should be a short circuit when the relay is engaged. I'm a bit confused by your resistance measurements... not sure what you are measuring where... one red wire goes to the battery, the other goes to the starter. The latter will have a low impedance to ground (i.e. under 10 Ohms) always.

It worked for a few days with new switch, now its dead again. Now both sides of the start switch have 12.7 volts even with key removed and brake not engaged. Switch is fine.

Ideas?

Bad starter relay, probably. Kick start no good?
