Had To Happen Eventually, But Damn...

Post by Shane Wilson »

I'm working at one of the finest recording studios in Nashville this week.

I've been parking in the round-about out front, right up next to the curb.

Tonight, as I was leaving, I realized my right mirror was oddly placed.

In fact, it was bent all the way into the windscreen.

I thought, 'damn vandals.'

Then I got home and realized that someone had done me the honor of knocking my scooter over.

My new Prima exhaust has now been 'broken in' for me with a lovely set of scratches.

There are a few other lovely scratches as well.

At least whoever did it was kind enough to not even leave a f***ing note.

Did I mention that this happened at one of the finest studios in town?

Grrrrrrrrr.....

They didn't leave a note but decided to pick it up? Weird. Hopefully, whoever did it hurt his back.

Maybe I should just keep an eye out for someone tomorrow with an obvious back condition.

man sorry it happened... that's something I've worried about quite a bit... especially when parked near bars, clubs, and schools. Drunk people and bored kids do some amazingly dumb things for entertainment.

Sorry to hear about your incident. Any chance there is a security camera pointed where you were parked?

It's strange that despite living in Nashvegas for only 5 years, during that time my car was broken into twice (an old CRX! ) and I had a bike stolen. Must be all the desperate musicians.

i asked about cameras and was told that there is CCTV but no recorders.

an artist manager told my assistant today that he happened to be outside smoking and saw it blow over.

i'm not buying it.

maybe, if my tucano urbano apron had been unrolled, but yesterday was a beautiful morning so i rode with it rolled up and didn't unroll it until i left last night.

pisser.

wicked pisser.

i was going to say, when something crappy happens to me like this i always want to blame somebody, but maybe the wind did knock it over. i have heard of that happening. maybe someone was kind enough to come by and pick up your fallen scoot.

I certainly suppose it's possible, but it just seemed so unlikely.

I discover damage.

Call the assistant.

The next mornning I'm told someone just happened to be outside smoking when they saw it go over and uprighted it, but didn't let anyone know that a scoot went down.

I don't know. Feels fishy to me.

But I appreciate your good natured-ness. :D

I will lay claim to picking up a Buddy once. I was bicycling, and found a pink buddy on it side. Couldn't bear it emotionally, and rationally, I was worried it would be a lot easier to run over, between two parked cars.

Did not have paper and pen, (in short supply on my bicycle) though I did talk to scooterworks about it a couple of weeks later.

Still see it parked but without the cover these days...

But this is of course up in Chi town, nothing to do with your one. It is a bummer.

When I was 13 or so, i backed my dads car into the guy behind me. My dad LEFT A NOTE! and we paid for his damage. has always stuck with me.

But being in the city, my car still has a large dent in the side from someone who hit me while I was parked.

It sucks, but what can you do.

Definitely sorrier about the Buddy...

Hey, the wind really could be the culprit here! Call me naive (it's true!), but also check out this post: Mean ol' Wind (knocked Buddy over, again)

Sorry to hear Shane.
Regardless how it happen, it just sucks to put a scratch on your bike.

If some one knocked it over, you should be able to see at least some scratches on the side the car/truck made contact (opposite the side it was laying).
Just a thought . . . that might help you work through the "wind pushed it over" theory.
Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

Notice that in that thread the poster says that the scooters were knocked over while covered.

I can completely see that happening if the scooter was covered or if my turbano had been unrolled.

But my scooter was not covered and the turbano was rolled up.
