Helmet Visor Question - How to remove a scratch

I wear a helmet, it has a visor, the visor has a scratch, it bothers me, how do I remove the scratch?

I understand the process of using various coumpounds to "sand" down the surface of the scratch. I have done this with the rear plastic issenglass window on an old sports car.

What I really want to know is what products have people used, and have they worked?

It will of course depend on how deep your scratch is. For minor stuff (and plastic convertible windows) I've had good luck with Novus products.
