Colorado Springs riders

Post by pesqueeb »

I've seen you out there. Sportique seems to be moving alot of Buddy's and I was just wondering how many local Buddy owners have made it to this forum. If theres enough of you out there maybe we could have some sort of rally or form a scooter gang. Winter is coming so lets do something befor its too damn cold!
Take off the tin foil hat and let the voices drive for a minute. It'll be fine.

well it would seem that some sort of ride/rally is in order! I assume that a saturday works for everyone? Maybe 2 weeks or so weather permiting? I guess we could all meet at sportique, then some sort of ride around downtown/GOG/Old Colorado city/Manitou Springs with a stop for lunch somewhere and maybe a beer afterwards. Let me know what you'd be interested in doing and I'll plan some thing.

Hi Shane- Saturday generally works for us. Let us know which date works best for you- Those places all sound good. My personal fav is GOG followed by Manitou. :)

Meet some new people!

Post by pesqueeb »

So, because I'm kind of an idiot, I forgot a prior obligation (in reality its the denver bike swap) and was wondering if this coming saturday, the 21st, works for everyone. My plan, meet at Ravens Nest Coffee at 10 am at the corner of Boulder and Institute, http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?ad ... &geodiff=1
(mapquest map shows it closer to platte, but trust me its on Boulder) We'll have a coffee and a meet and greet, then from the coffee shop, head through downtown and Old Colorado City on Colorado Blvd to GOG. Take the back entrance to GOG and make a complete lap around the park back twoards old Colorado City and Manitou. Drive through Manitou up to the Cog, pull a U and head back through Manitou and Old Colorado City back to downtown with a stop for lunch somewhere. Thinking someplace like the Dale Street Cafe or Wooligans Deli by the college on the north end of Tejon but I'm certanly open to other suggestions. Then a ride down Tejon or Nevada to intimidate old ladies and children :) with our bad ass scooter gang to our offical ending at sportique. We can have an un-offical ending at Jack Quinn or South Side Jonny's (I've noticed bikers hanging out there on Saturdays.) The Wife and I have done a very similar ride for a total of 3-4 hours depending on traffic, weather and service at where ever we stop for lunch. Slow easy ride on city surface streets, all rider levels welcome. Come for new friends and fun! Post or PM me to RSVP. If the weathers good the Wife and I will be there weather or not anybody else shows up.
Cheers!

Okay, well I feel like a total ass for flaking out on you guys. Shall we plan something for Nov. 11? The wife and I will still be going out this weekend (weather permiting) but if it works lets have our first "official" ride on the 11th.

It's not a problem. We still may be able to make it (if I don't have to work, and weather permitting). My husband asked if he could invite another person to go. He rides a non-Buddy scooter
The 11th sounds fine to me. :)

Nov 11th

Post by pesqueeb »

Looks like we'll have to wait till the 11th then. Weather calls for 60% chance snow/rain continuing through Sat night. Invite your friends or other scooterists you see on the street. Untill then, happy scootering!
Cheers!

Can I tag along? (new Colorado Springs scooter owner)

Post by leel »

Hello,

I was considering buying a Blur or a Rattler (which still has not come out), but ended up with a different scooter when I got tired of waiting for the Blur to arrive at dealers. The people on this forum seem like great people. I'm in Colorado Springs, and would like to tag along on your Nov. 11th ride if that's OK. I'm a nice guy, I promise ! :^)

Thanks,
Lorrin

Are we still meeting at Raven's Quest?

Post by leel »

Just wanted to make sure that the current plan is still the one above where we meet at Raven's Nest at 10:00 AM, right?

Thanks,

I'm right around the corner. A bit under the weather but I might still be able to make it for a cup of joe.
