I'm sure I'm not the prize winner but to answer your question, 5 1/2 years.
I lived across from where Jesuit is now for 10 years before it was built! What was there were cattle grazing all the way to Laurelwood, then more open fields until you got to Raleigh Hills. My dad and I use to cross over the highway to fly kites where Jesuit stands today.
Hmm, I'm 30 years old so I don't win there.
I live in Atlanta, so I don't win there.
I have 140 miles so I don't win there.
*SIGH*
I sound like I'm about 4....does that count for any points?
I would argue that I am the most central member of MB, though anyone in Kansas City can make that claim.
The geographical center of the contentental United States is 267 miles (by road) to the northwest of my address near (Lebanon, KS).
The mean population center of the United States is 250 miles (by road) to the southeast of my address (near Edgar Springs, MO).
Anyone up for a road trip? We can throw in Rugby, N.D., the geographical center of North America while we are at it. (832 miles to the north - amazingly, requiring only one turn: Exit I-29 at U.S. 2 in Grand Forks, ND. On the way, you pass Devil's Lake, the only closed basin in the United States - it has been cut off from the Missouri-Mississippi and Red River basins for the past 1,000 years).
I know it's a stretch, but it's fun to argue. I'm 41, by the way.
And clearly, I have too much time on my hands (Olympics are keeping me up late).
brimstone wrote:i've got a rattler in Juneau, Ak and i'm 34. i think that's the farthest north, so far.
probably the furthest west also unless a MB member lives in Hawaii.
nice catch...i didn't even realize that either. it's been a long week. there's a scooter shop in anchorage i found out about, they're more northwest then i am.....don't think other riders from alaska on the forum though. i too have been up watching too much of the olympic's. and not to ruffle the feathers of any enthusiasts of the sports i mention, but when the heck did whitewater kayaking, bmx and speed walking become part of the olympics

And I'm 46, with 1031 miles, so I'm right smack in the middle otherwise.
I drive thru Weston on my way home from work, so I'm another 7 miles South o'ya down here in PPines. I'm at 1290, almost ready f'r another oil change.
Slightly damp ride today in remnants of Faye.
Tazio-71 awesome- we have quite the age range 16-71 years old.
my only regret is I waited this long to start riding.
I had 2 13 year old boys drolling over the Buddy at a gas station today, they started arguing with one another about how old you had to be to ride. I interjected that it was indeed NOT a moped so they have a few years to go for a Buddy (mopeds 14 in OH). They said they are getting one for sure, expecting me to act like an old lady and say they shouldn't. I said "Heck yeah you better!", much to their suprise. Guess it is obvious I don't have kids-they would be busted up in no time at all.

Not true! I have done the following things: trained racehorses, done hunter/jumper and cross-country riding, raced sailboats, lived on a boat in Alaska for 5 months, used to walk from 1st Hill to Denny Way in Seattle at night - some of you know that's not a great idea - worked with injured wild animals, handled packs of 30 to 40 dogs (loud!) and I don't know what all! My son is the most cautious person I've ever met - I couldn't break him because he refuses to do anything remotely exciting! Sigh.

Wow, you may be the oldest person on the Internets, let alone a Buddy. That's awesome and gives me hope that I'll still have enough balance left (I'm far from graceful) to keep riding as I grow older. You goooooooo!
Well, I have a Dr. Friend who is in his 80's and he's on the internet. I guess he wins as far as I can tell.
I live in a rural area and would not even think to ride in some of the places you all do. I am retired so I wait till everything quiets down and all the planets are aligned before I venture out. But you are right, I will have to face the day when I will just be to unstable.

This is my first reply. I have been reading modern buddy around two years. I bought my buddy 125cc from Marvin in West L. A. Jan. 2007. I truly love it. I turned 66yrs. August. I am a snowbird between Calif and Oregon. I am stopped by many people asking about the scooter. Happy to be with this group.

Hey, we have Guidelines here for a reason.
Wasn't my blatant abuse of the emoticons dripping with enough sarcasm?

Did you know Maine is closer to Rio De Janeiro than Florida?
I'm the farthest west in the city of Chicago, unless someone lives at O'Hare Airport.
I'm probably the oldest Scooterworks customer on this list, I've had stuff on backorder since 1995.

welcome to the forum, you must be in the top 5 oldest! Did you ride before the Buddy?
Detroit area here. I'm about to be 57 (St Tropez) and wife is 54 (125 Pink Buddy). Just got them late spring, have put over 1000 miles on and we're having an awesome summer. Never expected to have this much fun, and everybody points, smiles at the old farts on the scoots, and ask where we got 'em when they hear the mpg.
Took me a while to get the confidence back for main roads, but am scooting 50 miles to work and back on good days.
Just caught thread and maybe oldest at 64 ("will you still need me whenI'am-----") . West ,if I count scooting 3blocks west to the Pacific, turn left on Senic Drive and try not to fall in and get wet . But by longitude ,Org. and Wash. have me beat by a long way!!!!! but then they also have MUCH more rain ---- that equates to much less scooting!!!! anyway I got my 125 Italia for a $5 raffel ticket so maybe I have The Cheepest Buddy (had to pay tax & lic. though) catagory??? Has any one else won a Buddy? Old and in the gray

Not true, I'm a Portlander and I scoot year round! Rain is just an excuse to have a high volocity bike wash!
