Modding to get a clock.

Post by hermitgirl »

I've seen a couple of slight mod changes to the Buddies, and I wouldn't THINK that adding a clock would void the warranty, but depending on price that's something I'd really want to do. Nothing huge or fancy, just something to let me know what time it is!

Has anyone done it? Do you have an estimate on price, etc?

Here's one that won't void your warranty. $20

I bought a digital bicycle speedo that also has a trip odometer, oil-check reminder, clock and some other features. Runs on a usual magnet sensor and goes up to 99mph. Haven't hooked it up yet, but that was my plan to add some of the info I'd like to have that isn't offered by the Buddy speedo. Will need to drill a small hole somewhere to mount it, but not really worried about voiding warantee as far as drilling holes in the plastics go...

probably wasn't very helpful, but it might give you some new ideas. It's quite popular with minimalist motorcyclists.

What i got was similar to this:

I have the same "spotclock" (except in red/pink) and it works great. I also have mine on my mirror, too. It's water proof, shake proof and once it's on it's on--it doesn't come off. It serves its purpose and works like a charm :)

Ditto ("trippo"?) on the Spot Clock. I have one on the P and one on Susan's Buddy. Love 'em.

i got a digital clock/temperature sensor from target. cost $10 and it is mounted with velcro inside lowest part of my dashbox. not waterproof i am sure, but keep betty covered when not riding. i wonder how accurate the temp is, but it makes me feel pretty tough to KNOW how cold it is when i am riding!
