St.Tropez in Photo Contest

Post by rodneydnelson »

I recently entered a photo of my St.Tropez in a photo contest at Boston.com. The theme was "motion" this month. If you would like to vote for my photo and help get it published in the Boston Globe, please follow THIS LINK. No registration or anything like that needed.
Of course you are free to vote for any of the photos that you like. Here's what mine looks like. Thanks.

Got my vote.
I suppose I should be upset, even feel violated, but I'm not. No, in fact, I think this is a friendly message, like "Hey, wanna play?" and yes I want to play. I really really do.

+1 Voted.

I like the photo. strong subject, well composed with slow shutter to empathize the motion.

Done. Very cool photo. Easy to cast a positive vote for. How did you shoot it?

(I liked the wheelchair racer and the time-lapse stars shots too...)

Thank you for your votes and comments. Much appreciated.
Skootz Kabootz asked how I shot this photo. I should have taken a photo of the setup. I have a Manfrotto tripod with a ball head that allowed me to lay the tripod on it's side across the foot well, and still mount the camera in an upright position. I secured it in place with a bungee net. I used a 12mm wide lens and positioned the camera to include the front of the scoot. I set up the exposure for 5 seconds. So I rode along with my DSLR about 6 inches off the street and used a remote to take the shot.

Manfrotto, ball head, DSLR and a fisheye. I'm guessing you took a nice gentle path to the curb, 'eh?

My vote's in. Great picture. Of course it has to be a St. Tropez, the coolest of the Internationals. :)

I voted for yours as #1, #2 the trike bicyclist, and #3 the planet's motion as displayed by the stars. Good luck with this! I really do like yours best.
