Most riders will be on 125cc+ bikes, and will be able to exceed (maybe not by much) the posted 50MPH speed limit on the majority of the Natchez Trace between Nashville & Tupelo, is all I'm saying.

The main difficulty on the Trace... no posted gas stops. If you're not carrying at least an extra tankful with you, you could be stranded if you can't keep up with the pack.

It isn't, but as I said, The pack should not be expected to pace themselves to a 50cc rider. But it's difficult to get lost! :)

I probably won't do the entire ride, myself, but I wouldn't feel obligated to keep pace with a 50cc rider if I were doing the entire ride. Forewarned is forearmed. Do what thou wilt!

IOW, if you want to do a long group ride where most of the group gets 10+ miles ahead of you every hour, and where most of the group have to be at work on Monday morning, and you realize there are no signs telling you where you can get gas, you're most welcome to attend! ;)

Jeff is correct in saying that most folks will average 45-50 mph on their way to Tupelo but if you're not opposed to going it alone, there's absolutely no reason why you couldn't do this on a 50cc scooter.

I will likely need to fill up once on my way down so I will be carrying a 2 gallon can with me. This will allow me to pull into a rest stop, top off my tank and get back on the road quickly.

While there are no gas stations directly on the Trace there are some "near" the Trace but you have to know which exits to take because there are absolutely no signs directing you there. Here is a list of those exits and how far you would need to drive to find a gas station or market.

We've got about 20-25 folks already committed to joining us on the ride. I hope some of you will consider coming to Nashville and experiencing a ride down the beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway.

I'll need to think about this sounds like fun. And to the person with the 50cc parts of the Trace when you first leave Nashville are a bit hilly so that will impact speed too.
