(NBR) Seattle Rock'n'Roll, make it a meetup?

Hey all - I am playing next Thursday evening (July 17th) at Conor Byrne in Ballard with Glenn Bell www.glennbellrocks.com. This is his CD release, so it should be special. Even if you don't like straight Rock'n'Roll, it would be fun to see some other MBers in person.

I'm the drummer, So I'll be there early with my stuff. Drums are too big for the scooter (well, maybe Alix could fit them) so I won't have Tony there.

Anyway - the details are:
Thursday July 17th
Glenn Bell at Conor Byrne in Ballard
http://conorbyrnepub.com

Shows start at 9pm, we are headlining (last). That means I can hang out and talk scoots for a while.

This is my first meetup suggestion, I hope I'm not breaking any protocol.

There is a community awareness scooter thing at scoot about... or SLU disconery center or something that thursday... we are gonna put as many scooters into two car sized parking spaces, and show off how much groceries and stuff you can safely put on a scoot!

I will try to swing by afterward... that sounds cool! Maybe ill bring some of my Vespa Club friends! :D

my friend from vespa club just invited me to it, because they are looking for diversity in the scooters, because it is a community thing, they want to show the community there are more than just vespas out there... which I think is super cool and responsible of the vespa club. I bet you could come down, we are meeting at South Lake Union Discovery Center... i dont know where that is... but we are meeting there around 4:30... I am gonna load up my buddy with tons of Sh!t to show people how much you can carry with one.

iirc, its at the south end of lake washington, right by the street. do you remember the burger king that used to be there? that's the general area. once you see the picture, you'll have no trouble finding it. :)

Cool!!

I may scoot down to the SLU thing too, then go all the way home (60 mile RT) Then come back for the gig. That only half a tank of gas, right?

It's official - I'm going to the SLU thing today. I should be there by 4:45. Then I leave for home at 6:45, return with drums to Ballard for the Conor Byrne gig.

Any Seattle MBers that want to say HI, I'll be at:
http://www.greatcity.org/events/great-city-block-party
until about 6:30-6:45.

Then I'll be at Conor Byrne from about 8pm, I go on stage at 10pm.

I hope I get to meet some of you!

I hope I DON'T see that smashed Sunset Buddy that Mikie found... :(

I rode from Everett to Eastlake in about an hour (3:45-4:45pm), then Eastlake to past Mill Creek in about an hour (6:40-7:40pm) stopping for gas in Ravenna.

I made it to the gig on time, it was weird caging after scooting about 85 miles earlier that day. My little Nissan seemed sluggish.

We had 2 singer-songwriters on before us, the 2nd one was from Austin Texas and had a really long set, and took too long to get going considering they only had 2 acoustic guitars and 2 microphones.

We hit the stage at about 11:30 (way late) but all the fans stayed for the entire set, until 12:30 (about 40 people in a mid-size pub, pretty good). I packed up and got home about 1:20.

I had a 9am meeting, so I had to be scooting out of my driveway at 8:10 at the latest. I made it but I need coffee... I'm getting old.

it's only old if you only did 1 or 2 small things the whole day
what you did was NOT small things, heh.

for example, today i drove my cage in to get a new windshield, walked about 9 miles while waiting for it to be done, drove back home, and immediately crawled onto the bed wishing i could call it a day.
THAT's old

Aw, but I wish I could have had the fun you had, heh.
One of these days I'll figure out how to get to a bham scooter get together.
