I'm still in. I just hope they don't announce the 200s until I get my 150, or I'll have buyers remorse!

It's been almost a month since I requested my deposit back. The dealer says they are having trouble getting their deposit back from Genuine, so they can give me mine  ... Talk about adding insult to injury...

Not your problem ... your deal was made with your dealer, not with Genuine. They may be cash-strapped at this time ... the winter months are tough for dealers.

If you wish to do business with this dealer in the future, you may wish to bide your time. If, however, you are not satisfied with their answer, you may wish to consider getting a lawyer or pursuing the matter in small claims court. If their financial situation seems shaky (either no stock or too much stock on the floor), you may wish to act sooner than later ; your deposit could be swept up in their bankruptcy.

Harsh ? Yup. No harsher, however, than posting anI Got Burned thread after they close.
when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

+1. Genuine has nothing to do with it. All dealers set up their own deposit arrangements; even the amounts were at dealers' discretion.

I asked for my money back at my dealer and immediately received it. No hassle, no delays. They didn't have to do anything related to contacting Genuine. Sounds like an excuse because they tied the money up elsewhere. Technically I think your dealer is supposed to hold that money and not use it for other things, so it should have been readily available. Unfortunately that doesn't sound great for the odds of you getting your deposit back... :?

Dealers may have had to put deposits down for the Stella 4Ts because the supply for the first shipment was limited and the 2Ts were still available outside CA. That's got nothing to do with dealers taking deposits from customers, though.

I believe I actually fall into Both categories:
topic16600.html
but I didn't mention the 4T Deposit for some reason.
I was able to still Keep my deposit on the 4T, while I am in "plan B". So I am still curious reg. this...

anybody hear any word on this yet?...
There will be an incentive or whatever you want to call it for those who already have deposits or payments in. Genuine is awaiting some info from dealers before making an official announcement.
Surely the've got all the info they need now, right?

I agree with everybody else. that money never went to "Genuine" that went to the dealer's pocket. If I were you I'd call them on it. :x

Dealers needed to pay for their Stella 4T's when ordered. I understand that they were offered credit towards 'special pricing of existing Genuine stock' OR a refund.

Your dealer is having cash flow issues.

See what your state says about deposits.

California does not allow non-refundable deposits for motor vehicles - CVC Section 11736 among others.

Interesting.
-we have a bunch of the stella on order but have not paid for them. We only get billed when there are VIN numbers attached to the order. I'm sure I will see a bill before I see the bikes.

*Bump*
Delay, Frustration, Deposits, all of that.
Any word? From anyone? Any confirmations on "third week in march" or February?

Not much left on my 'bit' to 'chomp on'.

I finally got my deposit back, and in the process my dealer said March. But then again, we've heard, that before. Now I find out that my company is relocating me to Montreal. Have to find a new dealer, I'm sure the 4t will take even longer to make it to Canada...

Motoretta in Toronto is distributing the Stella in Canada. Interestingly, they're badged as Genuine Stellas, not LML Stars.

They're on their site: http://www.motoretta.ca/
